Abhilash Tomy is Hours Away from a Historic Race for UAE and Bayanat

After 235 days at sea in solitude, Abhliash Tomy is less than 24 hours away from completing the Golden Globe Race at the French town of Les Sables d’Olonne. The cold French weather can do little to dampen his joy of completing the 30,000 mile race across the world.

The Golden Globe Race, a solo non-stop race around the world, is coming to an epic conclusion, and Abhilash aboard the BAYANAT is at second place. The 2022 edition of the 30,000-mile race began on September 4, 2022 and is the ultimate test for stamina, courage, and sailing prowess on the high seas. It is so daunting that of the 16 competitors who started the race, only 3 remain to complete the journey.

Following the exact route traveled in the first edition of the race in 1968, sailors set off from Les Sables-d’Olonne in France and make their way around the world via five Great Capes before returning to the starting point.?
