The ABC of Talent Acquisition
I absolutely love sharing best practices with customers. It's what gets my up early in the morning and passionate to travel around the Benelux region. That's why I'm thinking of launching a series of best practices here on LinkedIn around talent acquisition and I'm curious on how you think of this. I'm not sure yet of the name though: ABC, Talent Acquisition Hacks, Tips & Tricks, ... ?
Of course, this is from my experiences as a candidate, workshops with customers and sales. As we all know we are in a war for talent and transforming your organization from recruitment to talent acquisition with a healthy sales/hunter's attitude will allow your organization to be more competitive.
Anyways, let's start! :-) The top two best practices I mostly give during my sessions is:
- Give feedback to the candidate as soon as possible (good or bad) => leaving them waiting will destroy your employer brand. Honestly, the first thing I do when I don't receive feedback from a recruiter is to tell that to my own network to not bother to apply for that specific brand. Especially if your are recruiting for technical or sales people, you want to leverage that niche network.
- #ABC = Always Be Connecting, a candidate might not be a good fit for the moment but maybe in two or three years could be ideal for another vacancy at your company. A modern recruiter is someone that has the hunger to always keep networking and meet new people. Most importantly, when connecting to a prospective candidate you show that you value him or her.
I hope this advice helps in finding top talent.
More coming soon!
