Abans Honours Sri Lanka's Brightest Minds Empowering Dreams
In a heartwarming display of corporate responsibility and dedication to the future of Sri Lanka, Abans has taken a monumental step in enhancing the educational facilities for the top achievers of the GCE A/L 2023 examinations. At a ceremonious event held at the Education Ministry in Battaramulla, the highest achievers across various streams were honoured with notebooks and tablets, a generous donation from Abans. This initiative, under the theme “Jaathiye Pariganaka Sapayumkaru,” signifies the company's unwavering commitment to technology-integrated education and the betterment of the nation’s youth.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha, who served as the chief guest. His presence underscored the importance of this initiative and the positive impact it holds for the educational landscape of Sri Lanka. The ceremony was a beacon of hope and progress, with Education Ministry officials, school principals, teachers, parents, and representatives from Abans, including Managing Director Mr. Rusi Pestonjee, Dr. Chathura Jayawardana, and Mr. Chamila Janaranga, all in attendance to celebrate the achievements of these bright students.
In his inspiring speech, Minister Dr. Premajayantha highlighted the transformative approach of initiating the A/L curriculum before the O/L results are released. This strategic move is designed to save valuable time, allowing students to complete their exams within two years, a significant improvement from previous years. He announced that the A/L examinations will be held in November this year, and by 2025, they will be conducted in September, streamlining the academic journey for students.
The initiative by Abans is not just about awarding gadgets; it is about empowering the future generation with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Since the inception of the first Smart Classroom in 2017, Abans IT has been at the forefront of revolutionizing education in Sri Lanka. Over 1,000 smart classroom solutions have been implemented across the island, benefiting more than 40,000 students. This endeavour is part of a broader mission to build sustainable communities and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
