FROM THE DESK OF OUR CEO
The journey of innovation and transformation in defence technology has been greatly accelerated through initiatives like iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence). iDEX has provided AATRAL with an incredible platform to develop cutting-edge solutions for the Indian defence sector.
By fostering a culture of technological advancements and enabling collaboration between startups and defence forces, iDEX has helped us position ourselves as a leader in the defence technology space. IDEX Defence challenge has given us the opportunity to showcase our innovations, gain critical insights from industry experts, and contribute to the modernization of our armed forces.
AATRAL’s Journey from iDEX to Product to Aero India
AATRAL’s journey in the defence sector has been nothing short of remarkable, beginning with our participation in the iDEX Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC). We proudly emerged as winners of three iDEX DISC 5.0 challenges, securing two prestigious projects—one with the Indian Air Force and another with the Indian Army. Our commitment to excellence and innovation was further recognized in iDEX 6.0, where we won a challenge for the Indian Navy. These achievements have been pivotal in cementing AATRAL’s reputation as a key player in defence technology solutions.
VR Flight Simulator for the Indian Army
In the IDEX Challenge for Flight Simulation, we have successfully refined flight models by incorporating direct inputs from pilots, ensuring high fidelity and realism. Our simulation platform is not only cost-effective but also highly adaptable—capable of functioning as a static simulator or integrating with full-motion systems. This flexibility makes our solution ideal for various aircraft modules and ground vehicle simulations, expanding its applicability across multiple domains
This adaptability empowers organizations to train pilots and operators with unmatched efficiency, reducing costs without compromising quality.
AR/MR Aircraft Inspection & Maintenance for Indian Airforce
Our maintenance simulator enables the transformation of physical manuals into digital formats, creating a virtual twin of the aircraft. This allows us to break down the model into any number of sub-assemblies as needed, providing a highly detailed and interactive training experience. Our solution is particularly valuable for scenarios where OEM data is minimal, as the entire setup can be reconstructed from the ground up using multiple tools, including AI for data capture. With no hardware dependency, simulations can be run an unlimited number of times, significantly reducing both cost and effort in maintaining such training setups.
AI/ML-based Support System for Submarine Maintenance
In iDEX 6.0, we secured a project focused on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to assist submarine maintenance crews. This intelligent system enhances decision-making, automates maintenance workflows, and significantly improves the efficiency and safety of submarine operations.
Advancing towards deployment: VR Flight Simulator trials
Our VR Flight Simulator, developed for the Indian Army under iDEX 5.0, is now at trials stage. The simulator is being rigorously tested in real-world conditions, and we are excited to be in the final phase before deployment. This marks a significant milestone in our journey, reaffirming AATRAL’s commitment to delivering advanced training solutions for the armed forces.
