Qatar Plans to Test Air Taxi & Electric Delivery Planes

The Qatari Ministry of Transport has revealed plans to test the services of electric air taxis and delivery planes in early 2025.?

The Ministry has applied for all the necessary approvals with Qatari bodies concerned to go ahead with test runs.

VI&E Solutions to Develop AAM Projects with Crisalion Mobility

Volatus Infrastructure has partnered with Spanish eVTOL manufacturer, CRISALION to jointly develop and analyze AAM projects including cargo, emergency medical services (EMS), urban air mobility (UAM), regional air mobility (RAM) and tourism.?

The teams will study the required aspects needed for successful and efficient operations of Crisalion Mobility’s Integrity eVTOL at VI&E Solutions’ vertiports to further enhance the efficiency and safety of AAM operations.?

Grant Fisk , VI&E Solutions CEO, said; “We are excited to work with Crisalion so that we can analyze and study the interfaces between their Integrity eVTOL and our vertiport systems as well as develop strategies to minimize environmental impact and surpass sustainability standards to further reduce our environmental footprint.”

Archer Partners for eVTOL Pilot Training

Archer has signed an agreement with Etihad Aviation Training that lays the groundwork for a partnership to recruit and train prospective pilots for the company’s Midnight aircraft in Abu Dhabi to fly across the UAE.

As part of the planned partnership, Archer intends to deliver a Midnight aircraft simulator to be housed and staffed by Etihad Training at its training center in Abu Dhabi for research and development of pilot training competencies, to support the required regulatory certifications. Etihad Training will provide local guidance and expertise as they further engage with the GCAA and other local authorities to establish appropriate pilot training requirements in the UAE all in support of safe and efficient operations of Archer’s aircraft.?

Archer’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nikhil Goel , said; “Training a fleet of pilots to operate our aircraft is a critically important part of our efforts to establish a thriving urban air mobility network in Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE, and Etihad Training is the premier organization to partner with on this front. As Etihad Training’s first eVTOL partner, we will commence a thoughtful recruiting process and begin to train the first class of qualified pilots to operate Archer’s Midnight aircraft for commercial operations within the region.”

Joby Partners to Introduce eVTOLs to Saudi Arabia

Joby Aviation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aloula Aviation | ?????? ??????? to introduce the company’s eVTOL aircraft to Saudi Arabia.?

The MoU contemplates the parties working together to engage with key aviation stakeholders, including The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), to expedite Joby’s entry into the Saudi Arabia market, leading to the direct purchase of Joby aircraft to be used in Mukamalah’s operations.

JoeBen Bevirt , Founder and CEO, Joby Aviation, said; “Saudi Arabia presents a remarkable opportunity for our technology and the scope and scale of Mukamalah’s operations make them a natural partner for us.

“We’re looking forward to supporting Mukamalah as they introduce emissions-free aircraft to their fleet and we’re excited to explore wider opportunities across the region, in support of the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainability, which is a pillar of Vision 2030, and their overall goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2060.”

HYSKY to Co-Locate with Commercial UAV Expo 2024

Organizers of Commercial UAV Expo ( Commercial UAV News ) have formed a strategic collaboration to bring HYSKY Society hydrogen aviation education to Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas, NV, September 3-5, 2024.?

Commercial UAV Expo is a global commercial drone trade show and conference. The event will be co-locating with HYSKY Society, producer of the world’s largest hydrogen aviation event focused on zero-emission aviation.

Together, they aim to enhance the collaborative opportunities for professionals in the commercial drone and hydrogen aviation sectors and advance the future of hydrogen-based flight.?
