Advanced Air Mobility International
The global hub for #engineering and technical developments in Advanced Air Mobility and Urban Air Mobility.
Here’s a roundup of this week’s top news and developments in the advanced air mobility industry…
The Future of Flight action plan has been published by the Department of Transport (DfT).
It details plans for the first piloted flying taxi flight by 2026 and regular services by 2028, regular drone deliveries by 2027 and demos of autonomous flying taxis without pilots on board by 2030.
Duncan Walker , Chief Executive of Skyports and? Chairman of the Future of Flight Industry Group, said; “The UK is home to one of the world’s most important aerospace industries and is in an ideal position to be a pioneer in the next era of aviation. The government and industry have a joint commitment to support the development, industrialisation and introduction of new aviation technologies. Continued collaboration will ensure that we capitalize on the significant domestic and international market opportunities presented by the future of flight.”
Joby Aviation will deliver two eVTOL aircraft to MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) in 2025 to be used by personnel for testing and training.
The delivery is part of the company’s AFWERX Agility Prime contract with the U.S. Air Force (USAF).
“The early investment and vision by the US government in this critical technology is proving foundational as we continue our path toward commercial passenger service. We’re grateful to our partners at the Department of Defense for their ongoing support and continued leadership in adopting eVTOL technology,” said JoeBen Bevirt , Founder and CEO of Joby. “We’re looking forward to working with units at MacDill Air Force Base as we further explore the potential use cases for our aircraft, demonstrating its capabilities in realistic settings.”
Eve Air Mobility has released the name of its Urban Air Traffic Management (Urban ATM) software and provided updates on its development.?
Vector will be an agnostic software solution designed to safely address the unique air traffic and network management challenges of current and future AAM operations, focusing on fleet and vertiport operators, and future service providers for AAM.
“eVTOL aircraft flights will become an established transportation mode for communities worldwide. Eve expects first deliveries and entry into service as soon as 2026 and has been addressing the airspace and Air Traffic Management (ATM) challenges to support the introduction and growth of the market in a harmonized and safe way. Vector will streamline AAM operations from day 1, coordinating all stakeholders involved to enhance safety, optimize performance, and maximize resource usage,” said Johann C. Bordais , Eve’s CEO.

Bluenest by Globalvia , Guanacaste Airport - LIR , and Reserva Conchal have joined forces for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in Costa Rica.
AAM represents a new safe, efficient and sustainable transport solution, both for passengers and goods, thanks to the use of eVTOLs, which has been presented in Latin America with a demonstration flight, at an event in Guanacaste.
EHang’s EH216 unmanned eVTOL took off from the heliport located in Reserva Conchal, flying over the golf course, the coastal area, the sea, and a large resort area, until it landed at the same point on the heliport.
Jose Ignacio Rodriguez , Manager of Bluenest by Globalvia, stated; “We are satisfied and proud to have contributed to a milestone in advanced and sustainable air mobility in the Latin American region, with the first flight of an unmanned electric aircraft for passengers.
"Our first validations of vertiports outside of Spain, with the invaluable support of the DGAC, Westin, and Guanacaste Airport, are a great step for Bluenest and for the region in our common desire to offer safer, more efficient, quieter, and sustainable mobility to visitors and residents. We see in the Guanacaste region and the partners of this event the perfect combination to make the mobility of the future a reality very soon.”
Japan’s first UAM Center has been established in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, EHang (NASDAQ: EH) has revealed.
This state-of-the-art facility serves as a demonstration flight site, ground infrastructure, and maintenance base for EHang’s various pilotless eVTOL aircraft in the region, including EH216-S.
During the inauguration ceremony, the EH216-S pilotless eVTOL successfully completed its first flight in the Kanto region for aerial sightseeing.
