Here’s a roundup of this week’s top news and developments in the advanced air mobility industry…
Archer and Atlantic Aviation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on establishing sites for electric aircraft operations in the LA and New York City metropolitan areas, along with Northern California and South Florida.
Archer and Atlantic Aviation plan to electrify several of Atlantic's existing aviation assets to support future electric aircraft operations, including Archer’s Midnight eVTOL air taxi, at Atlantic Aviation locations across four key launch markets.
“We are excited to work with Atlantic to help electrify their vast portfolio of high-value aviation assets in America’s most congested cities including the New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco markets,” said Nikhil Goel , Archer’s Chief Commercial Officer. “These initial eVTOL vertiport locations will provide a launching pad for future expansion across Atlantic’s portfolio and ensure that our Midnight aircraft has safe, centrally located landing facilities for our future passengers.”
NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration researchers at Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, recently flew multiple drones beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) with no visual observer.
The drones successfully flew around obstacles and each other during take-off, along a planned route, and upon landing, all autonomously without a pilot controlling the flight.?This test is said to mark an important step towards advancing self-flying capabilities for air taxis.
Joby Aviation is collaborating with Atlantic Aviation to electrify existing aviation infrastructure in New York and Southern California, paving the way for the launch of Joby’s air taxi service.
The collaboration will focus on activating key Atlantic sites to support quiet, emission-free air taxis, including the installation of Joby’s Global Electric Aviation Charging System (GEACS).

赛峰集团(SAFRAN) Electrical & Power is to supply the electrical wiring on VoltAero ’s Cassio 330 electric-hybrid certification aircraft.
With this contract, Safran Electrical & Power will design and produce electrical wiring for the propulsion system and power distribution system – in particular, the high-voltage wiring – on the Cassio 330.
“The electrical wiring is a critical element of our Cassio aircraft, and we’ve selected Safran Electrical & Power based on the company’s expertise – particularly at high power levels,” said Jean Botti , VoltAero’s CEO and Chief Technology Officer. “This marks another important step toward the Cassio 330’s certification and service entry.”
SkyDrive and Cyient have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a joint technical collaboration on the SKYDRIVE eVTOL.?
This is SkyDrive’s first partnership with an Indian engineering company, which agreed to work across product development, engineering, manufacturing, and digital services.?
Tomohiro Fukuzawa , CEO of SkyDrive, said; “We are pleased to sign the partnership with Cyient to jointly collaborate on advanced technology development for our eVTOL. Cyient is one of India’s leading engineering companies with a wide range of business operations around the world, including in the aerospace industry. Having Cyient as a partner to create the first eVTOL technical publication manual will take us closer to the future of the mobility revolution.”
