The AAD 2024 expo

Every two years the expo happens at the Airforce Base at Waterkloof in Pretoria ,South-Africa.

It is my second time to experience this expo and perhaps not my last.

The background for us is this , as the Agents for TATRA in SADC ,we are actually supposed to promote all of TATRA and it's different genres they are active in . Yes TATRA has military vehicles for logistics Off-road[dirt roads] and On-road [The Tar road] , and vehicles built to a specification for Carrying various items and people around in specially built units.

Enough boasting.

To compare the two visits this one was less to me only because the last one was my first and the novelty has worn off. But a few things did strike out and slapped me around and that was the representation of the BRICS countries. Another kicker was the South-African Manufacturers of various disciplines were absolutely well represented and the best in showing off the wares .

The South-African companies really did do their level best to be the best at shownig off.

Denel ,DCD,SVI,Paramount, OTT, really stood out for me . Stellar performances.

A couple of things were funny . We saw a Ukranian officer lurking around . A bit odd seeing the Russians was also there with a couple of Partners . The American DOD didn't get the go for show. Disappointing but heh, welcome to South-Africa .

Embraer showed their multi purpose medium heavy lifter. Nice ,I kind of like the special look.

The Indian defence/security industry is the next one to watch especially on drone and missile tech.

All in all, something to be said about drone and the drone warfare game. It really kicked into high gear . Far more competition in this Space. What was a bit odd was the Private companies of American descent were small compared to the last time .

It feels to me as a novice and as my own opinion the line is drawn in the sand . I have no idea what is in store for the next one . We will have to see who survives and move onto bigger things.
