An A-Z Guide To Events

An A-Z Guide To Events

So, this month I thought I’d do a fun blog that will help with where to start with events in a handy A-Z guide. I’ve handpicked some of the most popular things I get asked for how LZ can help and there are a few not so well-known areas of how the LZ team add value to deliver optimum experiences ??

A – Acts. Use recommended acts and entertainment for a guaranteed way to get reputable acts at the best rates.

B – Budget. Have an event budget in mind or a limit which you cannot exceed. It’s essential for planning and there is always something possible for every budget.

C – Creativity = engagement. Tailored, unique, innovative - creativity should inspire and make your event memorable.

D – Define your goals and objectives first as this will act as a brief for the event management and planning to follow.

E – Event Management. Not just designing the format for the day but to create, produce, deliver and execute a professional experience – always thinking about the entire picture.

F – Festivals. The latest ’must do’ event is to hold a company social, conference or corporate event as a festival. We cover site assessments, production, staging, lighting and all the fun of the fair.

G – Green screen visual effects create a fun and exciting environment. Did you really think the BBC winter Olympics studio was live from Beijing?

H – Hybrid Events can be high impact, delivered from our studio, recorded and available on demand or a combination. Hybrid events extend the life of an event and often expand the reach and accessibility.

I – Immersive experiences are big. Corporate events are our bag and we pride ourselves on making your audience feel part of the experience.

J – Jack of all trades master of non. Events need a dedicated team to deliver the various elements. Bring in the professionals and so you can get on with your job.

K – Keynote speakers are not just for large events. We know many who can establish the main underlying theme and deliver with energy and impact and suit all types of events, themes and budgets.

L – Lighting. LED, Lamp, Lanterns, Gobos, Festoon, we know them all and what lighting works best to create the perfect setting.

M – Multimedia done professionally will create breathtaking, creative and memorable productions.

N – No! Or in LemonZest’s case, not some something we say very often. Our team always guide on what is possible, alternative solutions or even better ways to achieve what you want.

O – One stop service. Work with a full-service provider who can provide all elements within the events industry – and will work collaboratively with you.

P – Project Manager. A good PM will look after all elements of your event to lead and communicate at all stages.

Q – Q&A. Panel Q&A at a conference, compere or host Q&A at an awards, roving mic at a company kick off or awards – make sure they are technically sound and well managed to get the most from them.

R - Risk Assessments. The key for creating and delivering a safe event. These are a must do for when working at venues to ensure safety and minimise risk.

S – Social media. Incorporate this into your pre, post and during event. Our live tweeting always increases engagement and is delivered in real-time.

T – Theming brings together the overall concept and coveys the event in a playful and engaging way. Relates back to D – define your goals and know your target audience.

U – USP. Many services claim to be the same or better so understand your providers USP. Ours? It’s our people, our passion, attention to detail and our ownership of our commitments – your event is our event. ?

V – Video. It’s so versatile, vox pops, pre-recordings, live streaming promotional content. Single videographer or a full crew. We love video and handle all the technical aspects and editing too!

W – Wrapping up. The close of any event should summarise your purpose and leave a lasting message – and of course be aligned to your brand!

X – XFactor. Strive to be unique in your events and consider how the various elements can go above and beyond, be that technically or visually.

Y – Yearly events. Annual awards, conferences, parties, expo’s, charity dinners, networking events and more mut have an injection of creativity so they evolve and build on previous successes.

Z - ZZZZZ what we all need after delivering a great event.

I hope you enjoyed the LemonZest A-Z of events and have learnt something new or sparked some ideas for your next event.
