A-Frame Signs are Regulated by Miami Code Compliance
Coconut Grove Business Improvement District
The BID develops programs to keep the District clean, secure, funds marketing and special events in Coconut Grove!
The BID plays no part in regulating street signs – that’s left up to the City of Miami, of course – however, we do know that such signage is not officially permissible. So why do we see them at every turn? Turns out, many businesses are just taking a chance at not getting fined.
As City Code Compliance Officers randomly make their rounds, be aware they are well within their duty to fine you $250 for each violation -- especially if your portable A-frame is in shoddy condition, blocking foot traffic, and/or violating Federal ADA compliance requirements.
Again, we are not Code Compliance, but we are here to encourage you to follow the?City Code. It is our recommendation that you consider other ways to promote your business, because A-Frame signs on the sidewalks are not A-OK.
