A-Bay Engineers: Energy Management Initiative
We at A-Bay Engineers are very excited to showcase our Energy Optimization Initiative where we are planning for a 20% reduction in energy spend in 3 months.
For this example we have installed meters on two high voltage panels in a facility delivering live energy usage data. In the dashboard below we have our quick and dirty weekend analysis which shows us the peak demand for the 3 day period was hit around 4pm on Friday January 7 highlighted by the first red circle.
The Peak Day Deep Dive chart then breaks down January 7 hourly by the specific circuits we have on the panel to better see where exactly that energy usage is coming from within the facility. Right away we can see a ramp up in usage from the Chiller and Front of House operation (FOH).
On the bottom we can quickly assess if the recent peak is consistent with our energy usage in the last day, week and month. As well as compare our baseline for the past couple months.

Once we begin gathering the data our next step is leading Energy Prioritization Workshops with the goal of establishing a template for you and your staff to generate and evaluate improvement ideas based on real time energy data. Our goal is to reduce your peak demand over each billing cycle which will translate to lower energy costs.
In this example we have prioritized 3 initiatives that are being implemented to reduce the spike.? These initiatives were prioritized as a group based on ease of implementation and impact.?The ideas for this brewery were Chiller Operation, Compressor Operation, and Visual Boards Installation.
