Below is our Linkedln interview with her:

1. What is your responsibilities as Quality Assurance Engineer?

?As a Quality Assurance Engineer in the aviation industry, my primary duty is to conduct comprehensive audits on both the Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organization (CAMO) and the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) to ensure strict compliance with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) regulations, procedures, and standards. My goal is to maintain the airworthiness of our products at the highest quality possible.

In addition to this, I am also responsible for auditing all vendors and suppliers both locally and internationally, ensuring that they meet the same standards set forth by CAAM. Working closely with the CAAM, I also provide assistance during their audits of our organization.

Moreover, in the unfortunate event of an incident or accident involving an aircraft maintained or operated by our company, I am tasked with leading the investigation and preparing a report for submission to the CAAM within the given timeframe. My role in such situations is crucial in identifying the root cause of the incident/accident and implementing effective corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.

2. What is your educational background?

As a graduate of the esteemed International Islamic University of Malaysia, I am proud to hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aerospace. The university's rigorous curriculum has equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and skills relevant to the aviation industry.

Throughout my studies, I received in-depth training and exposure to the latest advancements in aviation technology and engineering principles. As a result, I am confident in my ability to contribute significantly to the field of aerospace engineering and maintenance.

My alma mater instilled in me a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence. These values have been instrumental in my professional success thus far, and I am grateful for the solid foundation that my university education has provided me.

3. What kind of knowledge and skills are required for this position?

Becoming a skilled and effective Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) in the aviation industry requires a robust understanding of aviation regulations and requirements. However, that's not all it takes.

In addition to in-depth knowledge of regulations, a QAE must possess a range of other critical skills. Strong auditing skills enable them to assess compliance accurately, while sharp critical thinking skills allow them to identify potential issues before they become a problem.

Moreover, a QAE must be adept at investigating complex technical issues, communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and making sound decisions based on available data. These skills are all essential for ensuring that the highest quality standards are met in every aspect of aerospace engineering and maintenance.

4. What was your position prior to being appointed as Quality Assurance Engineer?

Prior to my appointment as a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE), I have held several positions in the aviation industry, including Planning Executive, Technical Services Engineer, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) Approved Airworthiness Review Staff, and PTF Signatory. Each of these roles has provided me with valuable insights and experiences that have contributed to my comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry.

Through my work in each of these positions, I have developed a deep appreciation for the complex and interdependent nature of the aviation industry. As a Planning Executive, I learned about the importance of meticulous planning and coordination in ensuring successful project completion. As a Technical Services Engineer, I gained a broad understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance, and engineering principles.

In my role as a CAAM Approved Airworthiness Review Staff and PTF Signatory, I honed my skills in compliance auditing, airworthiness certification, and regulatory oversight. Together, these experiences have prepared me well for my current role as a QAE, where I can leverage my diverse knowledge and expertise to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards in the industry.

6. The most challenging part of your job?

One of the most significant challenges in the aviation industry is meeting the high standards set by regulatory requirements while also fulfilling the expectations of the company.

Striking a balance between these two often competing demands can be a delicate and complex task. On the one hand, strict adherence to regulations is critical for ensuring that the aircraft is safe, airworthy, and compliant with all relevant regulations. On the other hand, companies have their own expectations, such as maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and maximizing profitability.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, it is my responsibility to navigate these challenges successfully. By applying my skills and experience to ensure compliance with regulations and meeting the company's expectations, I help to ensure that our products and services are of the highest quality and integrity.

7. How do you balance your Life and Work?

As a busy professional in the aviation industry, I value my free time and cherish the opportunity to spend it with family and friends. In particular, I enjoy hiking and various sports, which offer both physical and mental challenges that help me unwind and recharge.

Given the demanding nature of my work, I am grateful for the understanding and support of my family, who appreciate the importance of my role in ensuring that aircraft are safe and airworthy. Their encouragement and support provide the motivation and energy I need to approach each day with enthusiasm and dedication, knowing that I am making a difference in the industry and beyond.

8. And lastly, what will be your advice or words of wisdom to all Malaysian young women who wish to join this industry?

As a woman in the aviation industry, I would like to offer some advice to those who aspire to pursue a career in this field. First and foremost, do not be afraid to chase your dreams, no matter how big or small they may seem.

While it is true that the aviation industry has historically been dominated by men, women have made significant strides in recent years, and it is essential to continue this trend. Women can also succeed in this field, and we must work together to break down barriers and create opportunities for future generations.

To achieve success, it is crucial to seize every opportunity that comes your way, even if they seem small or insignificant. Each step, no matter how small, can lead to significant progress and ultimately help you reach your goals.

I wish all women in the aviation industry the very best of luck and encourage you to remain determined and focused on your dreams. With hard work, dedication, and perseverance, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

?

We wish you all the very best and hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for your continued support from all of us at ninermike9M Malaysia.
