Your coaching business's growth isn't just about numbers—it's about transformation, impact, and continuous learning. As we approach 2025, it's time to conduct a comprehensive annual review that will set the stage for your most successful year yet.

The Power of Reflection: Three Transformative Questions

Reflection is the cornerstone of personal and professional growth. Ask yourself these three powerful questions:

1. What Were Your Biggest Wins?

Celebrate your achievements. Focus on what's going well because, as I always say, I really believe that what we focus on grows. Take time to truly recognise your accomplishments and step into your successes.

2. What Client Transformation Story Made Your Heart Sing?

Every coach has those moments that remind them why they do what they do. For me, it was a client who initially believed she could never earn more than £25,000 a year, part-time, working around her other commitments and having a satisfying work/life balance. Six months later, she proved herself wrong, earning exactly that amount while balancing parenting and her coaching business.

3. What Challenge Taught You the Most Valuable Lesson?

My own challenge this year was managing rapid programme growth. Instead of scaling back, I created a four-week small group accelerator. This innovative approach allowed me to maintain personalised support while expanding my reach. This has been a great way to figure out how to continue your mission and bring your values into your business. For me, it's always been my dream to support as many people as possible.

What Didn't Work This Year?

Be brutally honest. For me, my goal was to build a business less dependent on my personal energy. While I've made progress by hiring a team member and establishing systems, I've still got a lot of work to do.

Identify Energy-Draining Offerings

Recognise programmes or services that don't align with your long-term vision. For me, short 30-day programmes don't ignite my passion—I'm more excited about long-term, transformative coaching.

Addressing Avoided Feedback

Courage means facing feedback, even when it's uncomfortable. Don't postpone gathering insights that could elevate your business.

Look at Where You Played Too Small

It's easy to look at others and think they're further along than us, and be awed by how amazing they are. We don't realise that we're amazing too. Sometimes, there's a gap between how we perceive ourselves and who we actually are, and where we're at in our coaching business growth. We need to own our accomplishments and our personal growth.

Visualise Your Ideal Future

Imagine yourself in December 2025. What does success look like? Consider:

  • Number of clients
  • Signature programme structure
  • Personal development
  • Ideal weekly schedule, including your wellbeing
  • Client results

Write down everything as if it's already happened. Feel the emotion as if you are living these achievements. It's really impactful to write to your future self, along the lines of "It's the end of January 2025, and it's been an incredible month. Here's why..."

Practical Strategic Planning

List all your ideas, but make sure you keep focused. Map out your annual plan, knowing that not everything needs immediate attention. This approach prevents overwhelm and maintains clarity.

Your Journey, Your Growth

Your coaching business is a living, breathing entity. By conducting a thorough annual review, you're not just reflecting - you're strategically positioning yourself for remarkable growth.

Remember, the gap between where you are and where you perceive yourself to be is often wider than you think. Own your accomplishments, stay true to your mission, and keep pushing boundaries.
