94 to 2023 Dream time or Dream space

Does this shot show an alternative kind of _dream time_ or _dream space_ that 633 and Faye are in??I was in a film class at 新加坡国立大学 yesterday and we talked about the film Chongqing Express.

Honestly when I first watched it, I didn't think much of it. In fact, I did not like it.

For the simple reason that I am not a big fan of just superficial love story and romance.

I like depth, story and significance.

However, after Dr Gilbert Yeoh explained his intention of showing us this film, I was in much awe and found the impact in this simple-filled film.

He shared that the reason this film was selected because it is one of the few shows he believes depicts the story of the city Hong Kong.

We talked about the time, space and relationships in this film.

One of my favourite thought-provoking question he posed was

Take a look at the cover picture, make a quick guess.

That shot and freezeframe, somehow showed that Faye was a dreamer in the relationship and finally at this point, Cop 633 somewhat 'allowed' her to share the same dream space he is in.

I love it, simply love the simpleness of this film.

I always feel so intrigued with the ways art, film and culture can change our perspective.

This film makes me believe in dreams, love and lust again.

I cannot wait to watch more films.
