2022 was a turbulent year. While we seem to be tumbling from crisis to crisis in Europe, PALFINGER is within reach of a revenue of more than two billion euros for the first time in our 90-year history.
War in Europe, semiconductor shortages, inflation, energy supply issues, climate change, and still the pandemic. These are huge challenges that companies faced in 2022 and are still facing. But the values that have shaped PALFINGER for 90 years have also given us the opportunity to successfully handle crises: stability and resilience combined with innovation and cooperation. A recipe for success that proved exceptionally successful in 2022. The first month of the new year is over, and it's time to take a look back.
Following a two-year break due to the pandemic, we were finally able to meet our customers and partners in person again last year. At the main trade fairs bauma and IAA, we presented our innovations in the areas of electrification and digitalization to a large audience. And as part of our 90th anniversary event week, we had the pleasure to welcome thousands of visitors, including the ones invited to our big EMEA dealer conference.
For me, these and many other events show how important personal and direct exchange is to us at PALFINGER. It provides us with essential impulses to further develop our products and solutions in terms of quality and technology so that we can overcome the challenges ahead even better. Together with our customers and partners.

Additionally, the GLOBAL PALFINGER ORGANIZATION (GPO) is a fundamental element of our success. This enables us to react quickly and flexibly at any time, to take dynamic actions and to pursue the implementation of our Strategy 2030. An essential role in achieving this is taken up by our task forces, who focus on topics such as supply chain management, the supply of semiconductors, and energy security to guarantee smooth business operations, optimal production utilization and, as a result, ensure our high output. This has been so successful that for 2022 we are targeting a revenue of more than two billion euros. In order to be able to pass on cost effects to our customers quickly and transparently in the future, we switched to a dynamic pricing model in January 2023.
This is the keyword to look ahead to the new year. Let’s just say that we have a lot planned: We are investing massively in the education and training of our employees and are opening the new PALFINGER Campus in Lengau for this purpose; we are expanding the production and know-how capacities of our access platforms product line in L?bau; we are intensifying cooperation with universities and research institutions in the greater Vienna area with our The HUB Vienna; we are building on our impressive market successes in North and Latin America with even more service and local production and are revolutionizing the market for truck-mounted forklifts; and we are driving forward the consistent implementation of our Strategy 2030 on the basis of our two strategic pillars “Go Digital” and “Go for Solutions”. I am convinced that using change wisely to increase our lead through innovation ensures long-term success.
