How often do you check your portfolio? In order to create wealth you may want to have a multigenerational out look on your you investments. I admit to checking the markets a couple times a day however I learned a long time ago that the long term is what matters.
Recently, after receiving a capital call from a venture capital firm that I have committed some finds to, and I realized I had not gotten any updates about the status of the fund nor any specifics about the portfolio. An inquiry did not get anything except another capital call. Geez
As an advisor I only recommend solutions and mangers that are transparent and that I can understand the strategy and fees. For the most part Alternative Investments (Alts) do not fit that definition. So far, the best strategy is to be an owner of a handful of high quality stocks and go fishing. Not kidding. Ask Warren.
Love this! My biggest regrets are selling stocks...and houses too soon. Buy and hold until I absolutely need it.
