?? 9+ Years in Laravel & SaaS Development – From Writing My First Line of Code to Scaling SaaS & Analytics Platforms

9 years ago, I started my journey in Laravel and web development, not knowing that it would lead me to building large-scale SaaS applications, optimizing data pipelines, and architecting analytics platforms.
From those early days of struggling with database queries and debugging API responses to leading and optimizing SaaS projects, my journey has been filled with lessons, challenges, and game-changing insights.
?? The Realities of Software Development
When I started, I believed writing good code was enough. But after working on complex SaaS platforms and CRM solutions, I learned some hard truths:
?? Code Alone Doesn’t Solve Problems – Understanding Business Needs is Key I used to think that the best developers wrote the cleanest code. But in reality, the best developers deeply understand the problem they are solving. I’ve seen beautifully written software fail because it didn’t align with business goals.
For example, I once worked on a CRM where the development team focused on features, but the real need was better analytics for decision-making. We had the data but no insights, leading to missed opportunities for the business. That experience changed my approach—I now focus on how technology impacts business growth, not just how well it runs.
?? Scalability Isn’t an Afterthought—It’s a Mindset Early in my career, I built an application that worked perfectly for a few thousand users. But as the company scaled, so did the data, and suddenly, our queries started slowing down. A simple dashboard that used to load in milliseconds took 10+ seconds.
That’s when I learned that performance optimization is not something you do when you "need" it—it’s something you build for from day one. Now, I focus on: ? Optimizing database queries (no more N+1 query nightmares) ? Implementing caching strategies (so the system isn’t overloaded) ? Designing for horizontal scaling (because software should handle growth, not break because of it)
?? Data is the New Currency—Without Analytics, You’re Flying Blind A major turning point in my career was realizing that most businesses don’t struggle with collecting data—they struggle with understanding it. I’ve worked with companies that have millions of transactions and sales data, but they couldn’t extract useful insights.
This gap in actionable analytics led me to focus on building data-driven platforms, integrating tools like:

?? How These Lessons Led Me to Build eWards
After working on multiple CRM and SaaS projects, I saw a repeating pattern: ?? Businesses collect sales data but don’t know what to do with it ?? Existing CRMs show reports but don’t provide actionable insights ?? Many companies rely on gut feeling instead of data-driven decisions
This is why I’m now building eWards—a platform that doesn’t just track sales but helps businesses make smarter decisions with real-time insights.
Instead of just seeing numbers, eWards will allow businesses to: ? Identify sales trends & patterns automatically ? Optimize decision-making based on real-time analytics ? Understand customer behavior and buying patterns effortlessly
Because at the end of the day, data isn’t just for storage—it’s for growth.
