Almost all business is conducted online today, making it more important than ever to protect yourselves and your business from cyber-criminals. With this in mind, we have put together 9 ways to help protect your business from cyber-attacks:
.??????Try to limit the personal data that you share online. If you do share, make sure it is with trusted sources.
.??????Keep your devices software as up to date as possible. The latest versions of software often include the latest cyber-security defences, making attacks on company servers less likely.
.??????Make sure your passwords are unique on each website, app, or online platform. Using the same password every time makes it easier for hackers. Also make sure they are ‘strong’ passwords.
.??????Use two-factor authentication wherever possible. This verifies your identity in multiple ways before logging into an account.
.??????Keep an eye on your account, monitoring them regularly for any suspicious activity. Report anything you may find suspicious to management immediately.
.??????Make sure you only conduct online business while on a secure internet network rather than public Wi-Fi.
.??????Never share your personal account information (usernames and passwords) with anyone who calls or emails asking for it, even if they seem legitimate. No genuine contact will ask you for your login details over the phone or email.

.??????Do not click on spurious links in emails or text messages, even if the address seems to be from a trusted sender. These addresses can be faked.
.??????Keep in mind that Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will never call or leave a message threatening arrest or legal action. If you receive such a message, report it, delete it, and do not click on any links.
