- Discuss at the dinner table 1 “win” for the day. Work can be tough, and it’s important to recognize and be thankful for our successes, no matter how small they might be. This is my favorite tip!
- Appreciate your boss. They often work long hours, handle lots of challenges, and have to deal with you every day! ??
- When you express gratitude, it’s important to be specific, rather than just a generic “thank you”. Tell people why and how their actions or words had a positive impact on you.
- Spend 5 min at the end of every day to reflect. Think about or write down what you were grateful for through the course of your day, and what you wish you did differently so you can improve tomorrow.
- Handwritten thank you notes. They may be old fashioned, but their impact is strong like the drink!
- Participate in your employee recognition or kudos programs. Make sure your colleagues are publicly praised for their efforts.
- Did you know LinkedIn has a feature where you can endorse people for certain skills on their profile? Find a former colleague or customer you’ve enjoyed working with, then give them a quick endorsement on LinkedIn as a token of your appreciation.
- When things go south, find 1 positive thing in the situation, and hold tight to it. I.e., Be grateful that at least it isn’t snowing again today in MN!
- Give thanks to God, for all our blessings come from Him.?
