9 ways to grow your email list (only using Twitter)
Chase Dimond
Top Ecommerce Email Marketer & Agency Owner | We’ve sent over 1 billion emails for our clients resulting in $200+ million in email attributable revenue.
I have 27,000 subscribers on my email list, so I thought you could use this:
Here are 9 ways to grow your email list (only using Twitter)
1. Announce it before you send it
Tell people what they can expect and how it's going to make their life better / easier.
Include actual screenshots if you want.
Last time I did this I got 100 sign ups in 30 minutes.
2. Giveaways
You can send $, do a free audit, or giveaway a product, gift card, or service for free to a random subscriber.
It doesn't have to be expensive.
People like free.
3. Testimonials
As a personal brand you're in the business of creating trust.
More trust -> Less friction -> More signups
And a surefire way to create trust is to share what real people actually think about your newsletter.
4. Bonus Availability
Come up with a valuable bonus (a checklist, a mini-course, etc...) and say it's only available to people who sign up to your email list before noon.
This one just works.
5. Cross Promote
Do you know another Twitter influencer that might be interested in a cross-shoutout?
Are any bigger influencers than you offering you a spot in their newsletter?
If you do this right, it's worth every penny.
6. Guest appearances
Last time I had Daniel and Wiz on my podcast my signups blew up.
When you do these "crossovers" you attract the audience of the person you did the crossover with.
Very useful.
7. Share content plan for the next month
Sometimes the best marketing tactic is just being transparent.
Plan your emails in-advance. Make them great. Then announce how your subscribers are going to benefit from them.
8. Plug your newsletter under your popular tweets.
Ever seen me plug this?
Whenever one of my tweets about email marketing gets 100+ likes, I'll share the text below and it works like a charm.
P.S. I run the most engaged newsletter for all things ecommerce email marketing.

9. Use Revue on your Twitter profile.
Because Twitter acquired them, you're able to integrate it directly onto your profile.
I use it to collect emails & through Zapier, I pass it into my email platform I use for sending.
Just having it on my profile adds new subs.
Try it!
