If you were graduating college today, what is the first thing you would plan to do in order to set yourself up for success? Below I put together a list of the 9 things I would do immediately if I was about to step into the professional world.
#1. Google myself.
Then write down what I wanted to be different in the search 10 years from now.
#2. Create a Peer Group.
Create a group with 5 to 10 of my classmates and zoom weekly to share career journeys.
#3. Get Educated.
Spend a percentage of time consistently studying personal finance, long-term, disability insurance, taxes, passive income, etc.
#4. Work On My Communication.
Get good at public speaking, talking, and connecting with others.
#5. Improve My Writing Skills.
Try to get close to or as good at writing as Grammarly (great app by the way)!
#6. Write Down Ideas.
Get in the habit of journaling ideas daily. Either by written of verbal dictation.
#7. Work On My Habits.
Change my bedtime to 10pm and create a morning routine.
#8. Make Reading A Goal.
Come-up with a list of books that I wanted to read and read one book a month.
#9. Find The Leaders.
Try to connect with them regularly (I'd be prepared to bring some value and not just take)..
What's #10? I would love to hear your opinion. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
