9 things I did differently that made 2022 my best year in business so far

2022 was a game-changing year for both me and my business. Here’s a breakdown of what I believe made the difference, and resulted in my most enjoyable and fulfilling year in business to date (now 22 years and counting!).?
???More Flow:
This was first year of operating a business that truly felt light, joyful and??"by design".
I ONLY said “yes” to things I wanted to do.
Nothing out of obligation. Nothing out of pressure. Nada.
Game changer.
?? More Intentionality:
I created my schedule this year around the “big rocks” in my life. This included more self-care than ever before.
3x more than any other year I reckon. Physical health, mental health, spiritual health, and emotional health.
Along with mentorship and communities, this was also a hefty investment in both time and money but??????? worth it.
???More Intuition:
I valued my own insights and leading a lot more.
I finally stopped second-guessing myself and constantly seeking external opinions and validation before taking action if I felt inclined to do so.
Not everything was a raving success but that's ok. Everything was a stepping stone to the next thing.
And the ability to back myself either way is the biggest win.
???More Growth:
I increased my investments into myself. I invest at rates that would most people squirm (approx 25% of my gross turnover this year, even though my monthly expenses are significant with five kids)
This continues to uplevel me, fast track my growth and give me direct access and proximity to mentorship that expands and stretches me in ways I couldn’t do on my own.
???More Fun:
I enjoyed 2022 more than any of the other years I’ve been in business (I started my business in 2000!).
I made it a priority to spend time with people I wanted to be with, to travel to places I wanted to go, and bring more play into my business life.
???More Connection:
I made a conscious effort to connect with people who energise me and expand my mindset, who are "portals of possibility" and fire me up.
I intentionally went deeper rather than broader with my business relationships this last year.
?? More Freedom:
I had a WAY more spacious calendar. Many weeks I would have just a handful of commitments, sometimes just 3-4 hours for the whole week and I loved it.
This created room for thinking, being creative, seeing new opportunities and acting on them, and all the other cool stuff mentioned above.
???More Passion:
I finally got clear on my own positioning (ironic, given it’s what I help others do!).
And it felt great to go “all in” with my Marketing Me?? praxis, something I truly love and the marketplace needs and is a vital skill for the future of work and business (and I would submit, for life too!).
??More Potency:
The time it would take for my clients to get life-impacting, business-shifting transformations were compressed.
What used to take months in some instances started happening in a matter (or series) of “moments”. Something I believe will compound next year.
In Summary,,,
I also felt very strongly to prepare this year, physically, mentally and spiritually for the next chapter.
Full disclosure it did have an impact on my revenue (it was only marginally more than last year, whereas I could have brought in a lot more by saying yes to more things).
But with fewer hours and far more spaciousness, the clarity this allowed to flow in, and the foundation it has set for next year is priceless.
?SO WHAT'S IN STORE FOR 2023? ??
1.?? ?? ?? More Family Time
I have five kids all still in school and playing competitive sport, that need "more of mum" this year. And this is my highest calling and a big part of why I do what I do.
In the last few years I've worked 15-20 hours a week so I am there for them, but I sense there's a season where they need even greater attention this year, so I'm committing to do this for them.
2. ?? Book Launch
I have started writing my book, Marketing Me - due to publish early 2023.?
?3.?? New Levels of Spaciousness?and Flow.
I will be building on all the things I mentioned above?(Ie even "more" of “doing less”)
My impact is not confined to the quantity of hours and “time served” or “tasks done” to get outcomes. ?
Rather it’s linked to the energetic potency that flows through and that’s getting stronger and stronger and this facilitates rapid transformation.
People who have been in business for 30 years repeatedly tell me working with me has been the most profound experience they’ve had.
Used to be hard for me to own that but it happens repeatedly so here I am, sharing it.
And the irony it is, it doesn’t even come from me, I just help them unlock it and unleash it out of themselves. It's all there waiting to come out. I’m just the mirror that holds the vision of what could be.
