1. It is all about your fan page. If you intend bringing on local customers, you need to stand out and constantly communicate with them.
2. If you have a club/bar/restaurant, that’s perfect, teach people in live stream videos how to make a great signature drink or appetizer or anything. Boost the video on Facebook and tell people to come try it out.
3. Don’t bother with coupons and promotions at the beginning. They are not your signature to advertise. Everyone offers coupons these days and truthfully, it can be a headache to fulfil. Coupons are supposed to be rewards to people. You are essentially passing your profit to them. It should not be for enticements. And when businesses use them the right way, they get a new level of committed clientele.
4. Use your page to keep people up to date on what’s happening in your community. This would lead to a huge audience for any event planned. It becomes very easy to direct your traffic from that page to your store. It is also far cheaper than offline marketing with billboards, sponsoring events or any of the other things people do to get their business signs hung up in public
5. Once your facebook page is growing, start advertising deals to your local fans. Flash Sales! 24 hours opportunities (all they have to do is mention the ad and they’ll get the offer). No coupons. You want butts in seats and you want to know how engaged your facebook page fans are to what you've been doing. (this is at 3,000 fans or more, which should take you no more than a month to achieve if you run a facebook like campaign correctly, with a 10 dollar daily budget).
6. If you are in the entertainment industry, got a music night or a busy hour at all, live stream that, and let people know that your place is packed and fun
7. Train your staff and yourself to make sure that you ask people to like your page. "Hey have you liked us on Facebook?" No, "Got a smart phone with a facebook account, do it now? We've got great content, fun quotes, and we offer Flash Sales to all our fans! But only our fans!"
8. Get Customer Testimonials at least once a week. Offer people one of your best products and if they liked it ask if they would mind recording their testimonial (offer them a coupon for their testimonial, doesn't matter, what's going to matter is that no one--and I mean no one in your area is having live testimonials of people happy and smiling and enjoying your service).
9. BE CONSISTENT! The greatest crime in any business is inconsistency, followed very closely to Incongruence... run the business as well as you run your ads and run your ads as good as you'll run your business and the sky's the limit.
