ATLANTIC OCEAN (September 20, 2024) - Operators complete assembly of a FLARES unmanned vertical take-off and landing system after loading it with an Integrator fixed wing UAS during the 2024 Hybrid Fleet Campaign Event aboard Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10) in the Atlantic Ocean. The Hybrid Fleet Campaign Event utilizes U.S. 4th Fleet as the operational arm for Department of the Navy Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Experimentation Cell (DoN SEC) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic to field test unmanned, hybrid, and robotic systems in support of Chief of Naval Operations objectives.
