9 Questions You Should Ask Every Speaker Before You Book Them

You've likely been a part of events or planned them yourself. There are questions you can ask a speaker to make sure they are the best fit for your audience and that they are prepared to give your audience an amazing?experience.

1) Do you have continuing education materials for my audience?

My Answers: There are a number of materials for your audience. They will receive access the Mental Flight School aka Netflix for Leaders in addition to audio guides and the slides from the retreat or presentation experience we have planned for your audience.

2) What are the learning outcomes my audience will have after your presentation or retreat?

My Answers: The may slightly vary depending on the experience of transformation you'd like but ultimately: Your audience will learn how to:

• Be creative in their roles and leaders and community members.
• Develop a stronger mindset while building authentic confidence.
• Craft and pursue goals.
• Recognize healthy relationships while building a healthy relationship within.
• Market themselves & build their own personal brand.

3) Do you offer bonus sessions? Yes, depending on the contract, bonus sessions are offered and recommended for those who are interested in environmental & cultural change.

4) What are 3 works that would describe your presentation? Engaging, Entertaining and Educational

5) What do you do to engage the audience? This is a great questions. I use a number of engagement tools. At some point the audience will be encouraged to THINK, MOVE and TALK. My experiences aren't build for me to just stand up and talk in front of them. They come alive for everyone. Your audience will laugh, talk, meditate and some will even salsa dance.

6) Do you have materials or speak in other languages? Yes, I do have materials and speak in other languages upon request. I speak English & Spanish. Estoy listo hablar con su audiencia cuando quieras.

7) Are you a member of any associations or received recognition for your speaking? Yes. I am now a member of NAMCA, the National Association of Masterminds and Co-curricular Advancement. I've been a member of several associations throughout my career as speaker, coach and past higher ed professional.

8) Would you consider yourself easy to work with and if so why? I'm absolutely easy to work with because I want you to be at ease. Aside from delivering a great experience to your audience, I want to make sure your colleagues see you as the rockstar you are at all times. Most of my contracts are all-inclusive, which means I take care of all logistics and we have a pre-event call and post-event call to wrap the experience in a bow. It's my job to take care of everything for you once we get the ball rolling.

These 9 questions are a great start to booking the best speaker for your event. You could even create a google doc. I've attached a document you can use or add to if you'd like?to better vet people you're bringing on campus. There are sure to be questions that aren't on the questionnaire that you could add as well.
