The 9 Habits of a Spiritual Entrepreneur

There are over 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. Imagine what it would look like if each of those men and women were activated with the spirit.

How kind, how compassionate, how powerful would that kind of intention be??

The amount of light created by even one person who is living in their truth as a spiritual entrepreneur is incredible.

As a community, we are striving to become a string of lights that stretches all across the world, impossible to ignore.

If you embrace the nine actions of the spiritual entrepreneur, your life will change, your family will change, and your business will change.

Let’s zoom in on what it takes to build your life around this goal and shine your light everywhere you go.?

Discovering The Light

Before you start reworking your life to take on the mantel of a spiritual entrepreneur, you should know what exactly you’re working toward.

Spiritual entrepreneurs are business professionals who prioritize their spirituality in their professional identity. They are striving to serve a greater cause than themselves.?

Imagine what you would be able to accomplish having Warren Buffett as your investor, or Elon Musk on your board of directors.

Spiritual entrepreneurs have an even better investor in their court. The Holy Spirit, and the power of God, continually uphold their business.?

Here at Alter Call, we’ve seen countless businesses transformed, prayers answered, and miracles manifested. People have been able to find the perfect teams and get the right capital behind them.

They’ve faced huge challenges and had their families gather around them and their businesses. All of this power is due to spiritual entrepreneurship.??

Taking massive action might get you part of the way, but it can never be enough to change everything.

Disciplined daily action is required to build a company that does good in the world, and to grow that company into a legacy that you can pass on.?

Creating a Spark

As you take these actions in sequence, you will create massive momentum.

Every day, every week, every quarter, this momentum will gain force until, by the end of the year, you have a flywheel spinning at such an unstoppable level that your business will start to run itself.

Action #1: Pray

We wouldn’t have the right to call ourselves spiritual entrepreneurs if we didn’t adhere to this practice. Prayer needs to be our first priority. Seeking guidance and clarity from God will allow us to stay centered in Him.

The first thing we need to do when we pray is repent. Repentance is saying, “I could have done better,” and then seeking to restore your relationship with the Creator.

You should repent for the things that you could have done, the things you didn’t do, and the things you shouldn’t have done.?

Spiritual entrepreneurs pray not only for health but healthy desires. Instead of thinking small about our businesses, that they would pay the bills or mortgage, we need to trust that, with God behind us, the sky is the limit.

Ask God to form your desires into a vessel large enough to hold His plans for you.

Prayer for our family, friends, and team is also crucial. Instead of just praying for your own sales, pray that God would bolster your team to deliver the big things He has planned.

The ultimate sign of a spiritual entrepreneur is that they pray for their people, as opposed to themselves.?

Action #2: Listen

Our souls will tell us what needs to happen if we are willing to listen. They’ll tell us, “don’t go that way,” or “that project’s not going to work.”

With its deep, beautiful compass called intuition, your soul can discern exactly what is for you.?

Listening to your soul, you’ll know if a person is a right hire for your team, if a product is ready to launch, or if your next step is the right one.

However, when we’re disconnected from our ability to listen, or caught up in the noise that’s around us, we stumble around and make all the wrong decisions.?

Turn your ear towards Mother Earth, nature, and your body. Listen to your family, friends, and team. They will guide you and your spirit will help you know what advice to take in.?

The best way to practice and expand your listening ability is through meditation. Set aside time during the day to quiet your mind and listen to what is being said.?

Action #3: Love

Sometimes we fall out of love with entrepreneurship and the people God has called for us to work with.

Any time our team is having trouble or doesn’t perform, we forget we are supposed to love them. This becomes a slippery slope that can lead to harsh, ungodly reactions.?

Remember: we can’t love people if we can’t love ourselves. Any time we seek to take action in love, we must first take time for self-love.?

This is not about the destination, it’s about the journey. That is why we must remind ourselves to find joy in the path itself. The more you focus on the steps themselves, the more everything else will unfold according to God’s plan.??

Many entrepreneurs will sacrifice their bodies for success, but that will come back to haunt you.

You won’t have the energy, stamina, or emotional groundedness to do what is necessary. Being intentional about what you put into your body, your fitness, and your sleeping habits is an act of love.

You also have to love your past, present, and future. Your past is what led you here today. All of us have made mistakes, failed, and sinned.

However, to give your soul the love it needs, you need to love the path that gave you the wisdom you have now.?

The present is not always where you want to be, but it’s always where you need to be. Even with the difficulties you are facing, you must allow the light of love to coat your view of the surrounding situations.

Loving the future opportunities and things we’re going to create is also vital. God has such big plans for you that will change the lives of so many people.

We shouldn’t be afraid of the future, because nothing will take us away from those plans.?

Finally, we need to love our friends, family, and team members. Sometimes we can forget that our teams are part of our circle of love.

That’s the difference between traditional entrepreneurship and spiritual entrepreneurship: everything ties back to love.?

Action #4: Let Go

Letting go is a modality of its own. You have to learn to let go of failure, of things that could have occurred but didn’t, of fear, and of worry.?

So many entrepreneurs spend a tremendous amount of their working hours and energy on fear and worry. That is time that could have been used to achieve your goals and bring more light to the world.?

You have to let go of hate. That word shouldn’t be in your vocabulary. Regret, resentment, shame, guilt, and grief all need to be let go of. One of the most difficult things for entrepreneurs to apply this to is their ego.

The more successful we become, the easier it is for us to let our egos run wild.?

Letting go is a long and arduous process, but all of these things will dim your light and prevent you from accomplishing what you’ve set out to do.??

Action #5: Restrict

Restriction can become one of the most important aspects of your journey towards self-mastery.

Restricting distractions, limiting beliefs, and toxic thoughts creates willpower and discipline.

Imagine a version of you that doesn’t do all that stuff that keeps you from the things you dream of.

Without all of that toxicity, you can reach the highest level of light. Restriction builds a pure heart and keeps you firmly on the path toward your highest self.

Action #6: Build

Many entrepreneurs talk about having a spirit animal. Maybe you feel connected to a fox, wolf, or dolphin. They conjure up ideas of power and resilience.?

In reality, a strong entrepreneur has more in common with a beaver than a lion. Beavers are always working. If you brought a beaver into your home, it would immediately start rearranging things into a dam.

No matter what environment they are in, these little workers continue to build what they were made to build.?

Spiritual entrepreneurs should be the same. The first thing you need to be building is your character and competency.

You’ll need to continuously work on your foundation, your process, your strategies, and your institutional wisdom. This is how billion-dollar companies are formed.?

Action #7: Inspire

A spiritual entrepreneur is going to inspire, and in order to inspire, you must honor your word.

There’s nothing more uninspiring than a person who doesn’t show up when they say they will. If you don’t care, don’t grow, and don’t take responsibility, you will never inspire your team or those around you.

We can learn how to become inspiring by thinking about the uninspiring things we don’t want to be a part of. Ask yourself every day if you would be motivated by a leader who shows up like you do.

Strive to be brave, get things done, and create new things. Any time we create, we are in alignment with the Creator. This is inherently going to make you a force to be reckoned with.

Action #8: Innovate

Questioning assumptions and the old way of doing things allows you to find room for continual innovation.

The world needs change now more than ever, and to be agents of that change we must innovate. Getting involved in political rhetoric or voting for the “right person” isn’t enough.

Spiritual entrepreneurs take problems into their own hands and find solutions. They are driven to make the world a better place.

By fostering a culture of collaboration and continued learning, you can make innovation a priority for your team and your life.?

Action #9: Share

This is the most important step in the journey. Sharing your blessings, truth, mission, wisdom, and resources with cheer and abundance is what activates you for God.

This is such a challenge, but it is crucial to becoming who you were put here to become.

So many of us say we can’t share because we are too shy.

Shyness is inherently selfish because when you’re shrinking yourself down, all you’re thinking about is yourself. Who knows what a little bit of your light could do for the people around you??

Don’t keep everything to yourself. The more we share God, the more He will share us.? We get so worried about sharing our spirituality, we think we’re too cool for that.

However, as spiritual entrepreneurs, we are called to share this part of ourselves whenever we can. If there is a single person who hears it and thinks differently about their life, you’ve brought more light into the world.?

If you have not found a way to share every single day, that is a day wasted. You need to share your heart, your vision, and your cause. That’s how you grow, and how God brings the right people into your life.?

Let It Shine

If you build your life around these nine actions, you will achieve things beyond your wildest imaginings. God wants to give you the world.

All of us have certain things we need to grow in more than others. The growth is never done, but the path toward it is just as rewarding.?

Here at Alter Call, we’ve clarified our curriculum to help you focus on each of these actions.

If you take the time to work towards complete spiritual entrepreneurship, the year and your life will open up before you to be beautiful and full of light.
