Success in any industry goes hand-in-hand with innovation — the ability to produce new ideas, build better solutions, and launch new products. The most successful people are not simply the hardest working, they are often the most innovative.
From Edison, to Branson and Musk, here are 9 habits of some of the most innovative, high profile people around (at the moment). What would you add to this list?
- They constantly look for patterns
- They are brilliantly lazy - it comes down to efficiency
- They are obsessive note-takers
- They preach perfection, yet live for the reality of progress
- They have a relationship with their fears
- They don't wait for things to break, they are constantly fixing and iterating
- They find novel ways to nurture the creative process
- They pursue multiple projects, interests and ventures, not just one
- They possess a healthy arrogance
A key part of innovation is implementation and commercialisation — it is not being the first to come up with the idea, but having the boldness to be the first to produce it and bring it to market. When others see risk innovators see opportunity, where others see roadblocks they see potential and outcomes.
How many on this list can you see reflected in yourself? What would you add to the list?

6 年2.They are brilliantly lazy - it comes down to efficiency. I don't think this is true. I think it appears to be so but it actually goes against the logic of a being innovative. A bit like be innovative by not being innovative. However it is also a brilliant point because I believe it is an entry point to understand what is brilliance and mastery. The first 4 points are part of the same package. I wondered for many years what is mastery and finally the penny dropped. it isn't anything, literally! It's applying the exact degree of effort required. So, you open a draw and you do it so perfect that it wasn't too much or too little and it opens so smooth; you get startled by your own brilliance. Our minds are geared to do this and attempt to establish pattern to do this every time! My motto: Reductio Ad Perfectum. thank you for sharing. #reductioadperfectum
