Remembering 9-11
Never question America’s commitment to the war on terrorism and world peace. We must take time to reflect on the events that brought us there on September 11, 2001. No one person deserved to die that day but devastating attacks staged by third world terrorist's on our nation took place on our sovereign soil. Many men, women and children died on that day from all parts of the world and also much American service personal.
The New Jersey Army National Guard ever vigilant stood up and was ordered to active duty. Providing Security to the citizens of New Jersey at the Trains Stations, Bridges, and Tunnels. Also to provide aviation security and be a major player in the searching of the remains of both world trade towers as they brought over to the Arthur Kill salvage site. As we know now also many New Jersey Army National units, have deployed and fought on both fronts, and still provide homeland security on a daily basis.
We as soldiers and citizens are sworn to support our government and provide true testimony to the public and media about what it takes to remain a free nation. The servicemen and women will continue to fight for our very freedom and existence. We on the home front must support their vigilant efforts and not let anyone be forgotten or die in vain.
Those that served take the time to talk to your families and neighbors about what it takes to remain dedicated to lifetime of service to your country. Tell your story about where you were on that sunny September 11 in 2001 and in the same conversation ask people to tell theirs. You will be surprised at the emotion and sadness that will come over them; many still feel the loss of loved ones and service personal who never returned home.
Take the time to pray for our nation, your families, and those that serve with you both at home and abroad. In conclusion I take great personal pride to have served with all of you fine American soldiers and civilians thank you for your service to both your country and State.
God Bless America
