8urnout to 8usiness

Tethered to time, I started realizing just how much I was trying to do simultaneously, diluting my focus across multiple projects. A symptom of the belief that "I don't have enough time to do it all." It hadn't occurred to me to look at how I spent my time, but now that I was, one thing became clear: I wanted direction.

That direction would have to come from me, as would the belief that I can learn anything, and that regret is optional - so I trained myself to constrain and decide swiftly without regret. My next step would be certification from The Life Coach School, following in the footsteps of some of the most tremendous brains in the industry.

I learned how to ask myself what I wanted and execute on that.

I learned how to deduct goals from what I wanted, set them, make them a priority without eyeing the greener grass elsewhere and engage with them.

Attention and focus were still challenging - whenever I was given advice, I had to (and still have to) fight "this isn't relevant to me yet".

Whenever I decided something, I had to (and still have to) deal with "This isn't right", "This isn't working", "I'm not doing this right", "I can't do this on my own".

Creating evidence to support the belief "I can learn anything" will require dealing with overwhelm (which can be leveraged and cashed in towards the goal, as it turns out). It requires knowing how to manage your mind so it doesn't seduce you to change course, or quit doing things that scare you. Knowing how to manage your mind requires understanding how habits are formed, and how you can leverage that knowledge to create a useful foundation that can grow.

My north star? Contributing, in my way, to the creation of a more sustainable way of life for humanity, by delivering the ultimate Burnout Cure to women* in STEM.

Why that? Because my legacy is the matriarchy. What that means, I will know when I look back at my life from my deathbed.
