83, LLC Client Spotlight #5
I wanted to get into my current profession after experiencing hockey overseas with a Latvian teammate of mine named Arturs Ozols, which you can read more about here in The Players Tribune. He had a rough deal, and I felt it was my duty to help him going forward in his career. Ozols was my first client in 2016, and the business has taken off from there. In the spotlight today, I will highlight the player who inspired 83, LLC and his Latvian counterpart in the UK.
Proud of clients ???? Arturs Ozols and ???? Deniss Baskatovs of the ???? Billingham Stars in the NIHL for their performance so far this season.
Ozols is leading defenseman in points and fourth on his team with 5 goals and 12 assists in 19 games played. Before heading to Billingham, the 21-year-old spent last season in his home country with Zemgale in the Optibet Hokeja Liga, where he put up 12 points in 23 games. He plays a pretty steady, defensive-minded game while possessing the ability to create offense with his skating ability and near 95 mph shot, as shown in the video below. Billingham will need his solid play to continue as they look to climb in the standings.
Baskatovs is second on the team in points with 24 (7G, 17A) in 19 games played. Many coaches characterize him as a skilled, playmaking forward who is always the hardest worker on the team. He holds himself to a high standard, and this mindset has been on display so far in his young career. In the past two seasons playing in the BeNeLiga, he racked up 82 points in 41 games played. Prior to that, he played two seasons in the MHL, the top junior league in Russia. Baskatovs has his work cut out for him this season in the newly-aligned NIHL, and he is enjoying the challenges it has brought so far this season.
Keep up the great work guys! Make sure to follow 83, LLC and look out for more spotlights on clients as the season moves along!
