Welcome to Day 1 of this newsletter to keep you updated on the runup to the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Sunshine District 2023 annual conference, SunCon23, July 27-28 at the Biscayne Bay Campus of 美国佛罗里达国际大学 .

The PRSA Miami Chapter and PRSA Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter are jointly hosting the event this year. Of course, the PRSA Sunshine District leadership is working on the conference too, and all PRSA chapter leaders in Florida and many others are helping out. The goal of this newsletter is to give everyone involved quick updates on the 83 working days leading up to the conference.

Here's the first update: SunCon23 Call for Speakers is now officially out! You can file your submission through April 30 using this online form.

This year’s theme is “Get Loud,” a chance to amplify the latest tools, trends, and ideas to inspire the professional pursuits of PR practitioners across the state. SunCon23 is organized in 3 tracks:

  1. Professional Track: Media Pitching, PR Measurement, Crisis Communications, Accreditation in Public Relations (APR)
  2. Industry Track: Travel, Healthcare, Energy, Aerospace
  3. Innovation Track:?Social Media, Creator Economy, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), AI/Metaverse

So excited to support this year as we plan an excellent conference. The track that I look forward to most is our professional development speakers, and with all the discussions around ChatGPT and the conversations around innovation and ethics will prove to be insightful.
