80s Mustache and Cultures That are World Class

80s Mustache and Cultures That are World Class

I was recently going through some old pictures from the 80s and realized how dated everything looked. Yes, that's me. I had a jet black mustache, curly hair, a suit with fairly wide lapels and was about 20 pounds lighter. Believe me, that is not my current look. The “after” photo comes at the end of this post.

Ironically, finding these old photos coincides with the launch of our new Perspectives Ltd website. As with my “classic” look, things evolve—as they should. This is also true with Perspectives.

As Perspectives completes its 35th year and we reflect back on our history, I am very aware of how far we’ve come. Our success is directly attributed to our ability to grow and change to meet the ever-changing needs of our customer organizations and the employees and families of those we serve.

When we started Perspectives back in 1981, we served organizations by helping their employees grow. Our work has since evolved into something far greater and more beneficial to our customers and their employees. We realized that healthy organizations have great cultures and employee health is intimately tied to a healthy organizational culture.

As a result of this growing awareness, over the last 10 years, we have become more involved in assisting our customer organizations develop and improve their cultures. We’ve become even more valuable partners to them.

Our new website shows us for who we really are; partners helping organizations to develop world class cultures.

In fact, many of our customer organizations have received awards and accolades for their cultures, and we would like to think we have had something to do with that. This isn’t foreign to us as we’ve worked diligently to create a world class culture here at Perspectives, where we too have been recognized as a workplace of choice.

I invite you to explore our new website and please let us know what you think. Your input will help us to continue to meet the needs of our customers and their employees.

So here I am now. A little older, a lot grayer and no longer sporting the Geraldo Rivera mustache. (And if you don’t know who Geraldo is, then you can certainly see the value in changing with the times.)

Congrats Bernie. You and your organization have retained that which is timelessly valuable while evolving to address current needs. And the mustache is better than a mullet.
