We would like to thank our Exclusive Partner for participating in testing our latest developments.
Nivetec Instrumenta??o e Controle Ltda recently had the opportunity to work with the latest NIVELCO PiloTREK 80 GHz radar, and one of its most prominent partners in the sanitation sector was eager to be among the early adopters of this promising technology.
This partner, a large private sanitation company located in Limeira, S?o Paulo, serves a population of approximately 300,000 citizens. They are responsible for providing water and sanitation services, including collecting, treating, and distributing drinking water and properly disposing of wastewater.
The devices – a set of WPA–214–4 80 GHz sensors coupled with their respective MultiCONT PED–215–1 controllers – were installed in closed channels of treated water and raw sewage where ultrasonic level sensors were previously installed.
In these locations, the customer reported two main operational challenges: the susceptibility of the instruments to the high levels of chlorine released into the atmosphere from the water treatment process, resulting in rapid degradation and frequent replacement of the instruments previously used, and the difficulty of reading the wastewater level, mainly due to the significant attenuation of the ultrasonic waves caused by the thick crust of residue that formed on the surface of the residual liquid.
To address these issues, NIVELCO's latest PiloTREK W–200 80 GHz radar system stood out with its superior ingress protection (IP68) and the inherent advantages of signal propagation via electromagnetic waves. These features provide a competitive advantage for companies in any industry, as evidenced by its successful use in harsh sanitation applications.
