8 Year Old boy Needs Help
Dear Friends,
Konner is an 8 year old boy in our city who was born with Craniosynostosis. This is a birth defect in which one or more of the joints between the bones of an infant’s skull close before the brain is fully formed and prevents the brain from growing properly. If surgery is not performed then increased pressure inside the skull can build up. This pressure could cause blindness, seizures, brain damage, and possibly death. To date, Konner has had 9 surgeries to address complications stemming from his condition. Next June of 2016 he will be going to the CranioFacial Center at Dallas Children’s Hospital to have surgery number 10 to repair the large hole still remaining on the right side of his skull. He will still need further treatment as well to ensure the bone continues to grow properly. Funds are needed for travel expenses estimated at $10,000. Konner is a hero and an inspiration to so many who are dealing with this condition or a similar form of it. Even though Konner is unable to fulfill his dream of playing football, or regularly attending school with other kids his age, he has always maintained a bright and optimistic outlook about himself and on life in general. We also encourage you to spread the work of this event to your family, friends, employees, and neighbors. All proceeds from the proposed event will be donated to Konner and his family to help cover travel expenses. This is a great way for our community to come together to give Konner and his family such an encouraging and positive experience.
