8 Ways to Save, Earn & Give Back on Your Grocery Shopping

I have become utterly and completely hooked on sourdough bread, making it every week. My latest creation was a delightful lemon blueberry loaf – simply delicious!

What does this have to do with saving, earning, and giving back? Everything!

I needed lemons and blueberries for my baking, so naturally, I headed to the grocery store.

Here's how I saved, got cash back, earned, and gave back on my shopping trip:

#1 Make sure to utilize your grocery store’s app to download any digital coupons available.

I started by downloading the deals from the grocery store app, and fortunately, there were discounts on lemons and blueberries last week. So, I saved money!

#2 Join the store's loyalty program for even more savings.

I also have my frequent buyer card for Safeway. When I check out, I use that card to save even more money.

#3 Use a credit card that offers cash back on grocery purchases.

I have another app that occasionally has deals at Safeway, and I link my Amex Blue 5% cash back card for groceries through that app. I also use it at checkout for added savings.

#4 One of my favorite apps frequently has deals at Safeway where I shop, so I check it weekly.

I’ve found another app that has given me over $1,200 in cash back!

#5 Take a picture of your receipt with another one of my favorite apps to earn MORE cash back.

I have an app where I snap photos of my receipts to earn more cash back, and I used it for my purchases.

#6 Redeem all rewards from these apps as cash in my bank account instead of gift cards.

I transfer all the cash back from those two apps into my checking account instead of getting gift certificates.

#7 Use the GivBux app to give back to my favorite charity without spending a dime.
