8 Things That Should Disappear from Your Bedroom Immediately
The bedroom is a place of rest and relaxation. That's why things that aren't particularly conducive to a peaceful atmosphere should be removed from this room. We've put together a list of the nastiest things that disrupt our peace and quiet and, in the long run, even endanger our health. So, get rid of them!
1. Duvets and pillows that are older than five years
There is some debate about how frequently one should change their duvets and pillows. Some very particular individuals suggest purchasing new bedding annually, while others have used the same bedding for many years. Most experts recommend a middle ground, suggesting that blankets and pillows older than five years should be gradually replaced in your bedroom.
Important: Regular washing and cleaning extends their lifespan and fights dirt, sweat and mite infestation.
2. Unnecessary junk in and on the bedside table
Over time, all sorts of unnecessary things accumulate on and in the bedside table, such as used up packs of tissues, throat lozenges, old magazines, empty water bottles, etc. All of this junk creates a restless atmosphere in a room where we least need it. Therefore, regularly tidy up and clear out the bedside table.
3. Books you have already read or will never read
For many of us, reading a few pages before falling asleep is pure relaxation. But this effect turns into the opposite when the bedroom is suddenly piled up with books that we either read a long time ago or started reading ages ago. To create a peaceful, comfortable atmosphere, we should avoid all books in the bedroom, apart from the ones we are actually reading at the moment.
4. Uncomfortable bedding
Not all bedding is the same. Some sheets and covers make us feel right at home, others are somehow too rough, too smooth, too thin or too thick. We should throw these stepchildren out of the bedroom immediately and instead surround ourselves only with fabrics that make us happy and content.

5. Clothes you never wear anyway
Most of us have our wardrobe in our bedroom, and it's not uncommon for it to be bursting at the seams. The accumulation of clothes that we will either never wear or haven't worn for a long time creates unrest in the room and in our heads. That's why we should all regularly clear out and get rid of unnecessary clutter.
6. Dirty laundry
The laundry basket full of dirty laundry has no place in the bedroom, as it not only spreads unpleasant smells but also prevents our subconscious from really resting. How can you sleep peacefully if you're constantly thinking about how much laundry you still have to do?
7. Four-legged roommates
As much as we love dogs and cats, our four-legged friends have no place in the bedroom because they lose hair and often bring dirt from outside into the bed. There is also a risk of transmitting parasites and bacterial pathogens. For the sake of their own health and general hygiene, four-legged friends should be kept in their own basket at night.
8. All electronic devices
Last but not least, a classic of the things that we should definitely banish from the bedroom: all electrical devices, from TVs to laptops and from radios to cell phones, emit electrical radiation and rob us of sleep.
