8 Subtle Habits That Are Damn Hard to Do, But Pay off Forever

I have observed and relentlessly study successful people last year.

And the people around me what makes them likeable among every one else.

It turned out it all lies in basics.

It helped me so much to be more authentic and brought positive changes into my life.

The subtle habits, the invisible things that highly effective people do because that's how they have inbuild themselves.

Below are those 8 subtle and invisible habits that can help you unlock a better future and brings you closer to your dream life.

1. Nothing is personal:?

I had a habit of taking everything personally, overanalyzing stuff people usually say or do. It’s like when someone’s having a bad day and lashes out. It’s not really about you, it’s about their emotions that is overflowing.

But with time I realized, most?people usually react to their own bias and prejudice. And most cases, it's nothing to do with you. So don't take things personally, sometimes things are just as it is and it's better to leave than pondering over it.

2. Your life is now, enjoy every little moment:?

You know how many times you have waited to do something because it's not the right time or you may not have the right resources, or wait for the time when everything is perfect and in favor of you.

The odd point is the future is here. The future you were waiting, it's actually here.

So instead of waiting for the perfect time, why not do things that you can do right now.

You might discover a deeper sense of contentment and fulfillment in your lives.

3. Speak clear and with kindness:?

How often you get irritated when people speak to you in a rough tone or when asking for a favor miss to say please or thank you.

One of the major thing I learned in 2023 is to be kind and speaking politely with everyone. No matter who would you talk to.

Specially at work place, speak with co-worker, colleagues, even with the interns politely, offer your kindness and help without expecting anything in return.

4. Speak up for people when they can't:?

Imagine this: you are in zoom call, a colleague of yours messed things up and senior is escalating and getting angrier because of a mistake. Your colleague unable to gather the courage to clear things up.

Don't hesitate to speak up, defuse the situation, offer a resolution, a way forward. Explain reacting towards problem instead of the colleague.

What I mean is make it about the problem at hand not about the people.

5. Start asking questions instead of pretending to know all the answers:?

It's sad that sometimes people look down on asking questions. No one knows everything in their head.

Sometimes simple online search can give all the answers if you can't just ask. It's that simple.

It’s okay not to know everything, and asking questions shows you’re curious and eager to learn. It's a powerful tool for learning, problem-solving, and building stronger connections.

6. Letting go of things that are not in your control:

There was a time I tried to control everything, no matter how unrealistic it was for me at that time.

And sometimes there are things that you worked so so hard, and only to figure out it's not going to work out.

Middle of the last year, after lots of contemplation, thinking, I let go of a dream I had for 10 years.

I worked extra hard to get it for years only to realize this is not what I meant it to be. It was very heartbreaking for me to let go of that dream and with lots of?what if?scenarios in my head.

But if I look back, that seems to be one of the good decisions I took. So this year, embrace the power of letting go.

It doesn't mean that you don't care, it means you are creating space for something fresh and new.

It’s also about choosing where to invest your emotions and efforts wisely, focusing on what truly matters and what you can influence. It’s a way to find peace and preserve our mental and emotional health.

7. Living a boring normal life:?

Recently someone asked me how I like to spend my Saturday. And I immediately knew how I envision my ideal Saturday and actually I have all the power to live it.

While doing the retrospect for the last year, I asked:

"If I am manage to earn a million dollar what I will be doing?"?

The answer I came up with is simple: "I would like to write as much as I can, go on hikes, spend time with family, and eat my lunch at lakeside"

And the funny thing is I actual do everything right now.

That's my idea of a successful life, my definition of being rich.

Sometimes the true happiness lies in living the daily life, doing same things over and over again. It's not boring, it's exhilarating. When you get to do what you always want to do.

So today sit down, ask yourself:

When you achieve all of your big goals, what will you do?

And start doing it.

8. Routines are underrated:?

Good or bad routines, often people think they are difficult to break or to achieve. The honest truth is, it's not difficult. It takes time, that's the answer.

Everyone today look for instant gratification, quick dopamine.

However, it ties with your intention on how badly you want to break it or want to embrace something new.

When I started doing Pilates in 2022 November , it took me 192 days actually to develop a habit of showing up everyday.

There is a beauty in simple joyful routines.

It's like every day doing exercise, eating healthy, doing your work, and spending time with family; all of are part of your daily life.

You can't skip one over another.

Everyday may not be as excited as the other, but the thing is you still do it anyway. That's my friend, makes you separate from all other 99% people.

Just like writing, some days I am out of fresh ideas, but I still try to sit and write, no matter how shitty it is.

In Summary,

These habits may not seem like changing enough but it's the basics to live an amazing happier life where everyday is beautiful.

there is no secrets, you don't need to be superhuman.

They are the tiny steps towards your dream life where everything you do brings immense joy pleasure,

So, give them a try and watch how they sprinkle a bit of magic into your everyday moments.
