8 Skills to be an Effective Leaders!!!

Leadership as a concept and also a mindset! It can be learnt, and it can also be taught! The best aspect- It can be practiced every day and at every moment.

See, leadership is a complex and dynamic concept. It involves both innate qualities and skills that can be developed and honed over time. Highly effective leaders are those that recognize the importance of developing their leadership skills and strive to become the best possible leader they can be. In this edition of ‘The Perspectives of the Old Fox’, I share my perspectives of what could be the 8 skills that we can develop to be more effective as a leader.

What does it mean to be a highly effective leader?

?In my opinion a highly effective leader is someone who is able to effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire their team. He/she are able to create an environment of trust and respect, where people feel comfortable to take risks, be creative, and challenge the status quo. They have strong people skills and the ability to listen and understand the needs and wants of their team members. Delegation of task effectively and making sure that everyone on the team is working towards the same goals are an important aspect of being an effective leader.

These leaders also showcase excellent problem-solving skills. They are able to quickly identify problems and come up with innovative solutions. It is said that they have clear vision of what needs to be done and are able to communicate that vision to their team in an inspiring and motivating way. One of the other important innate abilities is that of being focused on their end goal/mission/vision.

?So, the following in my opinion is what I think are 8 Qualities that if imbibed would make one an effective leader:?

Being Self-Aware

One of the most underrated qualities that I feel is very important to be an effective leader- Being Self Aware. Highly effective leaders are aware of their strengths and weaknesses and are able to use this knowledge to better understand their team and how to motivate them.

?Being Proactive

?Highly effective leaders are proactive and take the initiative to identify problems and come up with solutions.?

Being Decisive

?Highly effective leaders are able to make quick decisions and take action when needed.

Being Strategic

Highly effective leaders have the ability to think strategically and plan for the long-term.?

Being Inspiring

Highly effective leaders have the ability to inspire their team and bring out the best in them.

Being?Innovative

?Highly effective leaders are always looking for newer and better ways to do things.

?Being in Integrity

Highly effective leaders are always in Integrity. They honor their word no matter what. They walk the talk!?

Being Compassionate ?

Highly effective leaders bring in compassion to their work approach and are able to motivate their team to achieve their goals.

Leadership takes dedication, commitment, and hard work. To become a better leader, you need to be willing to invest in yourself and your development. By practicing the habits of highly effective leaders, you can unlock your inner leader and become the best possible leader you can be.

Remember – There is a leader in you!!!
