Aqueous ozone is made onsite for businesses and homes using tap water and air. By products after use are water and oxygen with no residue left.
1. Effectiveness Sanitizing– Aqueous ozone is a much stronger oxidizer and thus sanitizer than chemical solutions, it therefore works faster killing bacteria, viruses, and spores. Working 3000 x faster than chlorine, bacteria and viruses have no time to build up resistance.
2. Effectiveness cleaning,
- Performs as well or better for general cleaning purposes
- Consistency - no need to switch between products for different surface types
- No streaks on surfaces like windows / mirrors
- Reduction of transmission of infections due to sanitizing properties.
- Floors & furniture not subjected to corrosive properties of chemical cleaners.
- Safe for cleaning around children, pets, food preparation areas.
3. Operational ease.
- One liquid for all surfaces,
- one shot cleaning,
- washing with same liquid after cleaning,
- no residue,
- faster
- Reduced training time for staff with one liquid
4. Health safety for staff. Decrease of adverse short and long-term health impacts related to diluted products that are absorbed firstly through inhalation and secondly through skin contact.
- Skin contact – elimination of mild irritation to severe burns with symptoms of redness to blisters and pain.
- Inhalation – irrigation to corrosion of nose throat and respiratory tract with symptoms of coughing and difficulty breathing.
- Slips and falls – improves average coefficient of friction of floors with cleaning with Aqueous Ozone in range of 0.59-0.69. Recent studies have shown a lower incidence of slips and falls after implementation of AO cleaning.
5. Food safety. Aqueous ozone has been used to treat drinking water since 1856, GRAS certified as a disinfectant for foods by the FDA in 1997. USDA – Organic certified.
- Sanitizes fresh food, can easily replace chlorine as a safe alternative.
- Sanitizes and cleans food production surfaces
- Removes some or all pesticides
- Leaves no residue on food – no change in flavour or colour
6. Environmental,
- lower water consumption for cleaning,
- no wash of chemicals into the sewage or environment,
- no packaging waste, or
- no contaminated containers ending in landfills
7. Expenses
- US$ 0.0005 per litre is the cost ready to use when made on site,
- No purchasing, receiving, storage process
- Reduced costs of wastewater
- Human resource savings through greater efficiency and efficacy
Aqueous ozone can replace the generic cleaning / sanitizing chemicals below
8. Carbon Footprint. Cleaning chemicals are complex compounds. They tend to have multiple solutions chemical solutions added together. They often have petrochemical and salt based raw materials. Process to get it to the end user include
- mining,
- extraction,
- cracking
- reacting & mixing,
- packaging,
- logistics
This is all avoided when a wall mounted unit produces on demand aqueous ozone from tap water and air.
