8 Questions

Do you have a clear picture of who and what your real estate business is all about?

Where it's going and how it's going to get there?

After surveying over 3000 real estate agents and coaching hundreds, we've uncovered that nearly 70% of all agents have never even thought about this question and let's face it, most agents get their license and they just start doing the business rather than really thinking about what it is they want their business to be about where they want to take their business in the future.

In this post I am going to give you eight questions to answer that very question, help you clarify and define the vision for your business, which is so critical, it's the first step to running any business.

Here it goes.

The first question is what are your core values?

Why would that be important?

One, core values really help us define what our business is about.

It'll help us with recruiting, it'll help us as we build our team, it will also help us with our marketing, but having clear core values is very, very important.

The second question is what or who is your core focus?

Like who is it that you're going to focus on and how are you going to, you know, build a niche for your yourself that you can go really deep with knowledge and create really a sustainable defendable type of business.

The third question is what is your long term target?

Now long-term target is, you know, where you want to go further on down the road and how long is that?

Well, usually it's between five and 10 years.

We like to say 10 years creating a 10 year vision for your business.

That is so important because, if you don't have that longer term vision, you can get off track, particularly if you just have these shorter term goals. So super important.

The fourth question is, or the fifth question rather, what is your three year picture?

Once we have that longer-term vision, we're then kind of coming back a little ways, and we're looking out to more intermediate goals and looking at what the three-year picture is, you know, what's your revenue going to be like, what's your business going to be like in three years?

And then that leads to the next question is what is your one-year plan?

The six-question, what is your one-year plan?

So then we make it real.

We go from this long-term vision to this intermediate vision to, you know, more immediate vision, a one yearbusiness plan. And that starts to break it down so that we can make it more digestible.

The seventh question is what are your quarterly rocks?

We have, once we have that one year vision, now we're breaking it down even further into 90 day chunks, which is basically scientifically proven to be super effective in running companies so that we can really, I guess, create more traction in our business, make sure that there's accountability and make it even more real.

And then the eighth question is what are your issues? Know, what are the obstacles, the concerns, opportunities that you face in your business, and every business has these types of things that come up.

And so by answering these eight questions, super important, you can get your company on the right track, making sure that when you start work every day, you're working on the right things, the most important things, and you can fast track your business to create the business that you want.

So hopefully you've enjoyed this post, these eight questions. Answer them, you know, maybe write them down and spend some time starting to answer them.

It might take you a little while to go through and actually do it really well, but that's going to help you create that clearer vision for yourself.
