8 Inspiring coaches share why they chose coaching as their career:

To be a coach is to answer your calling. This can be very different from other professions. Most people who pursue coaching identify with a strong sense of purpose in doing so. In recent years, coaching has become a popular career choice for many individuals. Although there might be different reasons why someone chooses to become a professional coach, it’s not for everyone.?

Let’s explore and hear the top reasons that led these successful professionals to coaching.

 ICF Coach (ACC)

Lisa Tyler -??ICF Coach (ACC) - Helping you navigate personal and professional change

Lisa is working with people who are at crunch points in their lives or in their career path. Perhaps if you are facing a crossroads, obstacles or feeling stuck with something that has made you stop and think “what now?” “How do I move forward with my life or career?” Lisa Tyler is here to help.?

Why I chose coaching as my career:?“I personally needed a change after more than 25 years working in big organizations and was keen to find a better balance between work and home life. In my quest to find an alternative that would give me a greater feeling of purpose, I worked with some fabulous coaches. I realized that the need to change this is a common feeling for many others who may be feeling burned out or disillusioned or who know they have more to offer the world - all while balancing family life and wanting to contribute to their community. This has become more intense and as we have navigated the additional pressures of the pandemic. I love the work of Bruce Perry and Brene Brown on trauma, as well as Nancy Kline's 'Thinking Environment' and am finding so many aspects of their work overlaps - whether you're working with a client on issues with family dynamics or careers. ? ??

‘Recently I have also been working with leaders, entrepreneurs and teams, in start ups and more established businesses. It’s so rewarding seeing people rediscover their ‘why’ and reevaluate how they work so that they can improve performance and company wellbeing, making for a happier and more successful workplace.

Christine Nicholson is a professional business mentor, author, and speaker who has received several awards. Working with business founders with a revenue of more than £2 million who are still involved in the day-to-day administration of their technology, engineering, or product services companies. She was honored to be named UK Business Mentor of the Year 2020 by her clients. She was a finalist in the National Entrepreneur Awards 2017 - and her client won the award. she's spoken about business on the BBC! She is a Court Assistant and Freeman of the Company of Entrepreneurs, City of London, and she has achieved the highest Professional Accreditation as a Business Mentor from the Association of Business Mentors.

Christine has been assisting businesses for over 30 years, having experienced both success and failure, as well as making errors and learning from them. In less than 15 months, she grew her first company from zero to £4.5 million in revenue. After that, she assisted a customer in rescuing his high-tech engineering firm from bankruptcy to an eight-figure exit in just 18 months. She's worked with a wide range of enterprises, from software firms to taking over the management of a zoo. Having walked in the shoes of the founder and lived to tell the tale allows her to assist other company owners in becoming the heroes of their companies. Her clients have constantly boosted sales, profits, and cash flow — they've gained millions while saving tens of thousands of dollars.

Why I chose coaching as my career:?I’ve seen the impact of failing businesses.?I’ve also seen the impact successful businesses have on their communities and society as a whole.?Entrepreneurship is all about ideas and gets a lot of coverage – but running businesses, the engine room part of a business, is the poor cousin and gets almost no glory at all.?It isn’t taught in schools or universities and leaves many business owners floundering when they should be thriving.

When I was a kid I saw my favourite uncle start a business he had a real passion for and was really good at but his business ultimately failed.?It was only later as an adult I really began to understand why that happened and the impact it had on him and his family. If he had had better business insight and knowledge then his business could have been thriving, employing more people and creating wealth for all stakeholders. I believe that business doesn’t have to be complicated, but it’s make it that way because of a lack of knowledge, support and available business education.

Consultant | Team Coach | Mentor

Blyde Neser -?Consultant | Team Coach | Mentor

My name is Blyde. You pronounce it “Blady”.?

It all revolves around humans. How we lead and inspire them, what their work preferences are, the energy we convey to our teams and the resources we provide to enable them to accomplish great things. She works with heart-centered leaders and professionals who recognise that they need to take a holistic approach to success.

Why I chose coaching as my career:?We live in a world where just a small proportion of the population has a significant effect. I prefer to work with compassionate people who are also bright so that they may use their leadership and influence to change the world. I've learned that the true motivation behind what I do is a strong desire to assist people in achieving success in company and at work.

I love it when my clients get their dream job. It excites me when I can help a business achieve sustainable success. It makes my heart sing when a client breaks through barriers that are holding them back from being successful at work or when leaders find solutions to things that have been keeping them awake at night.”

Kevin Lowe -?Transformational Life & Business Coach

Kevin is a Transformational Life & Business Coach on a mission to let you start living life on your own terms - A life no longer dictated by circumstances, but rather directed by your own hopes and dreams. He excels in helping female entrepreneurs and those in the making whose lives have been shaken by a life-changing event, disability, diagnosis, or illness take back control of life, discover their own unique brilliance, and ultimately create a life they love.

Why I chose coaching as my career:?When I awoke from surgery at 17 years of age to find that I was left completely blind I knew in my heart there was a reason why. It took me a long time to realize the reason why, and not just know it in my head, but accept it in my heart. God knew I would serve a greater purpose in this life having gone through what I did, than if I had not. A large part of that purpose has been to inspire others to never give up on life, even when it seems like life has given up on them. But now as a life coach, I am able to take that even a step further. I not only get to inspire, but more importantly I get to empower others with the tools and mental strength needed to overcome their own challenges. And in the end, I have to believe in all my heart that if I am able to use what I have been through to now be a help to someone else then all that I have been through since losing my ability to see has been worth it.”
