So like most of you at home, I've been spending some time up-skilling myself and revisiting my old career in marketing. I've already taken a HubSpot Inbound certification, and was looking out for new courses.
This year is about reinventing yourself and preparing yourself for the future. I think marketing is a really important career skill, but more specifically I think learning to write is a highly important personal skill to develop.
If you want a career in marketing, or want to develop new skills for a side hustle, here are a collection of free courses you can take.
Google's Digital Garage
Here you'll find 126 learning resources, offered with or without certification. They offer courses on in-demand skills which are from data ad tech, digital marketing and career tips. This is already a great place to start. I personally am interested to take the digital marketing course. I'll update this article when I have more input to provide.

Google Analytics Academy
Familiar with Google Analytics? Here's a good place to get started. Personally, I think this is my weakest skill which is analysing website traffic and behaviour. Obviously you can go deep in learning GA, but for any digital marketer understanding how GA works is a must.

Hubspot Academy
Hubspot Academy has created tons of free content and certification courses. The target audience being those in sales and marketing, it is a helpful place to start. I especially recommend the Inbound course which is a good primer into how you can sell using the Inbound philosophy. It's also good for business owners wanting to take advantage of the free tools HubSpot offers, such as the CRM. A worthwhile exploration of courses.

Google's Primer App
Another interesting take on training useful to learn business skills and marketing concepts. What's interesting is the method of delivery, which is focused on using an app to learn on the go. It covers areas of business basics from operations to management, and includes more marketing related topics such as branding and other marketing tools. I like the idea of also having practical key next steps and takeaway after every lesson.

Facebook For Business
Facebook and by extension is a free way to bring your business online and to reach your audience. If you have never taken advantage of the business tools and lead generation ads, you can learn on how to utilise it here. While I would not recommend using it as the sole platform for business, it is a great way to reach your audience and build your community.

Moz SEO Learning Centre
If you're like me, you probably know about SEO but not sure how to fully grasp it to grow your website traffic. Moz is one of the most popular sites out there on the topic of SEO. Try it if you're a digital marketer and want to learn more.

Copyblogger's Internet Marketing for Smart People
I'm already hooked by the title. Copywriting and content marketing are one of if not the most important skills you can learn in marketing. I would even go as far as to say its the most "human" way of marketing. This should be the first skill marketers should develop - learning how to tell stories and write. In the long run, that is a skill that will give you the most returns in your marketing career.

Canva's Design School
Ah, Canva, the anti-photoshop tool. Democratising design for everyone else, its been my go-to tool to design quick logos, images for social media and websites. What I find most useful are the design templates, which you can quickly adopt to make a fuss-free design. A must have for every marketer or business owner. While the interface is simple enough, its helpful to learn the basics of design, how to master social media and how to brand your business using the site. These free courses are for that purpose.

That's the 8 courses! I believe they are comprehensive enough for most people. I love that digital learning has now made these stuff possible for anyone to pick up. In my day, I had to learn marketing from books!
