7 Amazing reasons why BEST leaders act like CHILDREN.
In many ways children are better leaders than adults.
Not everything can be copied, but here is what we can learn from them.
Feelings - children do not hide their feelings, they do not act like robots. Being authentic is so important to being a leader.
Honesty - children are honest and hate BS. Part of growing up is learning to put up with lies.
Imagination and creativity - Children see magic because they look for it. Schools reward memorization, and abilities to pick up skills from drilling. By the time we are adult, imagination is in short supply. They see the snowflakes as I explain in this article.
Curiosity - children are very curious about everything and never afraid to ask questions. They love to listen.
Relationship - children do not build their relationships on "you do something for me, and I will do something for you". They first try to do something for you, not expecting anything in return.
Courage to try new things - jump for the first time on a trampoline or into a swimming pool, or start a new project.
Forgiveness - children forget and forgive easily. We should do the same !
Positive attitude - children's positive outlook on life is remarkable. Dr. Marla Gottschalk in her excellent article Positive Psychology and Happiness at Work explains how to restore positive energy at work.
