Let’s talk about YouTube. I’m going to give you seven ways to make YouTube your own appointment setting machine. I’ve talked a bit about video marketing on social media, let me show you how to effectively use YouTube for your insurance business.
- Set? up your very own channel with your name as the name of the channel. For the channel cover photo,? you want to set the image to have your? headshot, phone number and a website URL where they can go and learn more about you. Assume that when somebody watches your video, they will do some research on you. Taking a few moments to set up a professional YouTube channel landing page makes a world of difference! - On your channel landing page there is a spot for a welcome video. This video will automatically play when people land on your channel, giving you a great opportunity to talk to them for a few moments. I recommend making this welcome video short and sweet, tell them who you are and why you set up this YouTube channel. Encourage them to subscribe and then spell out the phone number that you would prefer for them to call or text to take action. This video should be no longer than 60 seconds.
- Write down the five biggest cities that are around you. For your next five videos on your YouTube channel, they will be titled, “Insurance in CITY NAME“. In this short video quickly introduce yourself, share the general types of insurance that you can help them with and your contact information. As you watch your YouTube analytics, you’ll be surprised at how many people land on this video. It is like a search engine optimization super hack, it’s crazy how well this works!
- Every time you make a video, you will want to make the description start with this: “NEXT STEP call me at…”. Last week I shared some of my email marketing tips, and I ended the email by telling you to give very clear directions on what to do next. These instructions also apply to YouTube videos, they need to know exactly what to do next so that you can help them! You can see my videos on my YouTube channel as examples of me telling people exactly what to do.
- After you have made those five videos for each one of the cities that are around you, now it is time to use your YouTube channel as a time multiplier. Let me explain… One of the best ways to use video is to give a single answer one time, very thoroughly, and then send that YouTube video to a prospect that is asking the question. This helps you out by making it so you only have to answer the question one time, and it connects your prospect to your YouTube channel so that they can do more research on you. You will be surprised at how many people will learn that you can serve them in other ways!
- As you are starting your YouTube channel and working to get exposure, you can use your new platform to connect with local influencers! I recommend reaching out to other local successful business people and asking them to be interviewed on your YouTube channel. You can simply stop by their office, set up your cell phone on a tripod and ask them some simple questions about how they got started, what their favorite stories are about business, what tips they would give another entrepreneur, etc. The influencer will feel very appreciated, and they may even share your YouTube video to their audience!
- Finally, your pride and joy YouTube video should be your video Domino! This well scripted masterpiece is like an appointment setting machine for you! Following the script that I wrote, you will be speaking directly to the listeners pain points and showing them how you can solve it. When done correctly, these types of videos get your listeners to jump on your calendar to schedule an appointment!
