Please support our plans for a 7/7 Memorial in Tavistock Square Gardens
The 7/7 Tavistock Square Memorial Trust is delighted to report that we are at an advanced stage with our plans for a new 7/7 memorial, following conversations with the families, local residents and with local statutory organisations, which should lead to the planning application being submitted in early April.
The memorial takes the form of a cast metal plaque within Tavistock Square Garden. Its placement and inscription references the location of the incident. The memorial's message is intended to be contemplated from within the garden square, however the memorial also announces a presence onto the public pavement outside the boundary of the railings.
The architects developing the design, Carmody Groarke, have previously worked successfully with the bereaved families to design and deliver the National 7 July Memorial in Hyde Park.
As part of the planning process, we would welcome the opportunity to include a letter of support from both individuals and organisations, which could include a paragraph that provides a little bit more information about yourself, why this memorial matters and any contact that you may have had with the Trust.
Your letter of support can be posted to Philip Nelson, Chair, at his home address: Flat 12, 13 Tavistock Place, London WC1H 9SH. Alternatively, your signed response can be scanned and emailed to [email protected].

7 年I reported on the Tavistock Square Bombing for the BBC 6 o'clock news that day. I remember it like it was yesterday. I'd be happy to lend my support to a fitting memorial.
