What is the USP of Automation systems offered by 75 F Automation.

75F is a vertically integrated IoT-based BMS using smart sensors and controls to make commercial buildings more efficient, healthy, and comfortable. The solution includes wireless sensors, equipment controllers, and cloud-based software that delivers predictive, proactive HVAC and lighting automation right out of the box.Components in a typical 75F install include smart sensors that connect to 75F’s AI for cloud analysis, a 75F Central Control Unit? as a supervisor with built-in wall interface, 75F Smart Node? as a terminal equipment controller, 75F Smart Damper? or third-party units in various configurations, and 75F Facilisight?, 75F’s building intelligence suite of web and mobile apps for secure remote monitoring and control. Our sensors capture millions of data points daily, which are updated to the cloud every minute and combined with live weather data for analysis.75F’s self-learning and intuitive building intelligence system is a unique solution that improves a commercial building’s Operational Efficiency and Occupant Experience, or (OE)2, by proactively controlling the HVAC, indoor air quality (IAQ), and lighting settings based on inputs from sensors, weather data and configuration settings and predictive algorithms.

Energy Efficiency: Higher energy (& proven) savings than most other traditional BMS due to the unique hardware architecture and the fact that the algorithms have efficiency & high-performance built in from the start. 75F saves up to 50% on energy while improving Occupant Experience by up to 10%.

Vertical integration: A comprehensive solution, combining hardware, software & services that are integrated together before shipping & that works out of the box, resulting in far lesser setup time and far fewer onsite problems.

AI-backed Software: Industry-leading architecture where software truly drives hardware. Solutions in the industry today are very hardware-driven, with software merely providing reporting/visibility.

What are the prevailing market conditions for your sector and what are the forecasts for the future.

Millennials are changing the workplace. Offices have evolved from being rigid places of work to becoming smart, comfortable places where employees thrive. Smart office technology deploys automated systems, sensors, and advanced communication infrastructure and networks, which assist in providing centralized control, remote manageability and data analytics. Advanced HVAC and automated lighting systems help offices manage energy better while improving climate & lighting control. Other solutions like cafeteria management, elevator management, space management, meeting room booking, Smart AV systems, etc. are focussed improving occupant experience. Indian facility managers are increasingly becoming energy conscious while at the same time prioritizing occupant comfort and safety. They see value in investing in technologies that help them achieve their sustainability goals, make workplaces more productive, secure and comfortable and improve efficiencies. All of these factors and more are leading to the rise of smart offices in India. Globally, the Smart Office market was valued at USD 28.04 billion in 2019 and is expected to reach USD 55.62 billion by 2025, at a CAGR of 13.6% over the forecast period 2020 – 2025 according to Mordor Intelligence. India, owing to its rising economic conditions and an increase in new buildings, is estimated to be one of the key markets driving this growth.

What are the various challenges of your sector and how do you tackle them?

The main challenge I see is awareness about the range of benefits that IoT can bring to buildings and thereby our lives. Also, IoT is commonly misunderstood as being expensive. However, with growing awareness builders, owners, facility managers and occupants alike will soon realise that the long term benefits and savings of IoT-powered smart buildings will soon outweigh the initial expense. Second, dealing with the rising threat of IoT security is not only important, but doable. 75F believes in stopping these attacks before they start by enforcing correct design policies in the first place. High levels of encryption, multiple data storage locations, the enforcement of unique login credentials, and a hardened Android front-end are some of the ways 75F ensures security at every level of our system. Another challenge IoT faces is data storage. With data being collected from multiple data points in small intervals of time, the amount of data generated is huge. Sorting the useful parts from the unnecessary is time-consuming. Data integrity is difficult without skilled operators and requires a professional team. The way data is stored and analyzed today has advanced in leaps and bounds and I am very sure that soon the problem of data integrity will be solved too.

Any recent technological marvel in your segment which you would like to share with us.

Internet of Things (IoT) is paving the way for Next-Gen Building Automation. Energy efficiency, profitability, business continuity, physical security and surveillance, etc. all form an integral part of today’s functional requirements when it comes to commercial buildings. IoT enables all of these at a much lower cost and in a more user-friendly manner than before. IoT is a platform of connected devices which have the ability to transfer data seamlessly without any human interven-tion. Therefore, it is no surprise that IoT is impacting various industries and is catching on rapidly in India. IoT-powered Building Automation Systems automate a multitude of significant tasks like monitoring and analytics; and make available complete and real-time views into entire operating environments within a building. Systems such as HVAC, lighting control & automation, security and surveillance, monitoring utilities, energy management, the building management costs, which are often 10x higher per square foot vs energy costs. Yet, the greatest value in smart buildings is in the improved workplace experience, as organizations spend as much as 100x on staffing per square foot compared to energy.

Some of the key examples:

  • Leading Co-working firm: 75F’s Solutions are deployed across the firm’s 5 Facilities in India with a total area of more than 1,000,000 sq. ft. The Bangalore facility has achieved up to 30% energy saving over projected baseline consumption.
  • Global Automotive company: One of its Bangalore sites saves up to 38% on HVAC Energy & 27% on Lighting energy. The customer has improved the occupant experience and drastically enhanced operational efficiencies with 75F.
  • One of the largest Petrochemical enterprises: 75F system has been saving an average of 20-36% each month on AHU and Chilled Water energy consumption which amounts to 39,000 kWh savings per month.
