7.2 million NIS Invested in Food and Nutrition Grants

In the first round of funding of the “Food and Nutrition” program run jointly by BARD (Binational Agricultural Research and Development), the Israel Innovation Authority in partnership with USDA NIFA (National Institute of Food and Agriculture), eight grants were granted. The total sum of the grants was 7.2 million NIS. This is the first round of funding in a 5-year funding framework which scope is 40 million NIS. In this funding track the American investigator is funded by USDA-NIFA, and the Israeli investigator and commercial partner are funded by the grant assigned to the Israeli R&D.

But, when you limit applicants to: "Israeli researchers who partner with Israeli companies and collaborate with U.S. researchers who were funded by USDA-NIFA on a relevant topic" you narrow down 90% of good relevant proposals. Its a classic 'grant with a catch' fund. Please consider: "Israeli researchers who partner with Israeli companies and collaborate with U.S. researchers" and get better larger diverse applications.
