- Dedication to Nation-Building: The idea of working long hours for nation-building stems from a place of dedication and the desire to contribute significantly to a country's development. In rapidly growing economies like India, such dedication can accelerate growth and innovation.
- Work-Life Balance: On the flip side, consistently working 70 hours a week can lead to burnout, mental health issues, and reduced productivity in the long run. Work-life balance is crucial for overall well-being and sustained productivity.
- Quality vs. Quantity: It's essential to consider the quality of work rather than just the hours put in. Sometimes, working smarter and more efficiently can yield better results than merely increasing work hours.
- Cultural & Industry Differences: The appropriateness of long hours might vary across industries and cultures. For instance, the #startup #culture often involves long hours, especially in the early phases. However, it might not be sustainable or necessary in other sectors.
- Personal Choices & Circumstances: Each individual's circumstances, #health, and personal commitments play a role in determining how many hours they can or should work. It's essential to respect individual choices and understand that not everyone can or should adhere to the same work schedule.

Purpose of living will add a few more layers to the debate
- Nature of Time & Existence: Our time is finite. Every hour dedicated to work is an hour less from other pursuits – be it leisure, relationships, or introspection. The question becomes: What is the most meaningful way to spend our limited time on Earth?
- Purpose & Meaning: Why do we work? Is it merely for survival and comfort, or is there a deeper purpose? Some find inherent meaning in their work, viewing it as a calling or a way to contribute to the greater good. Others might see work as a means to an end, where the end could be personal growth, enjoyment, or societal contribution.
- Balance & The Middle Path: Many philosophical traditions, from Aristotelian virtue ethics to Buddhist teachings, emphasize the importance of balance. Extremes, whether it's complete leisure or incessant work, might not lead to a fulfilled life. The "middle path" or finding balance might be the key to contentment.
