The "7 year itch"
Itches come in many different forms and for those worried that this latest post is branching out into the world of personal health and hygiene then fear not…
Scratching a niggling itch can be such a pleasurable feeling when you get it right, can’t it?! You know the ones I’m taking about; a destination you always wanted to visit, an instrument you always wanted to play, a dream car you always wanted to drive, a mountain you always wanted to climb, perhaps with a best friend too (@milesperryman). Personally, I have always wanted to build a Caterham with my father and kids and I hope to scratch that itch one day.
But itches can also come in the form of irritation and I don’t mean the ‘excuse me doctor do you mind looking at this rash’ type of itch either! I mean those jobs you know you need to attend to but keep leaving them for later. You hope they go away but they keep irritating you until you get around to sorting them.
It just dawned on me that EU tyre pressure monitoring system legislation was first introduced in November 2014, meaning that many of you might be having your very own ‘seven-year-itch’ when it comes to TPMS!
Some of you scratched it years ago with Autogem and will be feeling fantastic as a result, while other workshops have resisted the urge. I might be biased but ignoring this particular itch isn’t going to make it go away. Not being able to effectively provide a good TPMS solution will certainly send TPMS work away as sensors stems inevitably perish and their batteries expire.
For those of you who haven’t experienced our legendary TPMS back scratching abilities, Autogem is widely regarded as being an industry leader and our knowledge of the market, product quality, training and technical support has positioned us as genuine innovators. Our programme saves considerable time, improves engagement and crucially, adds a significant revenue stream to our customers’ businesses…. Metaphorically speaking we can help you with the
‘up a bit’,
‘down a bit’,
‘left a bit’,
'Wow, that’s the spot!'

back scratch!
For many of our 3,500+ i-sensor users who have had “a good scratch”, they’re feeling much better for it, we’re reliably informed. Some tell us that there hasn’t been a TPMS problem that they haven’t been able to resolve.
For those who have chosen Autogem for their TPMS requirements but may have lost their focus for the category, we’ve created free live online TPMS ‘tune-up’ refresher sessions to ensure that businesses and staff are trained properly in the use of our TPMS equipment and then know how to access our technical support team to back them up. You can book an online consultation at Autogem’s dedicated TPMS zone?https://autogem.co.uk/tpms/
So what about the other kind of ‘7-year itch?’
Well fortunately I have an incredibly patient, understanding and lovely wife with whom I am celebrating our 15-year wedding anniversary tomorrow. She has been with me on quite some journey so far including Autogem’s own TPMS journey which began shortly after we met - and she will attest to me waking many a time in the night to jot down another TPMS idea in those early days.

I need to thank her for sticking by my side, just as I need to thank so many customers for doing likewise. It has taken me a long time to realise that life is truly about partnerships, whether personal or business, we have to keep working at them, they need to be sustained and nourished and never take them for granted. That and itches need to be scratched!
