7 ways to sell better..... using AI

Are you afraid that AI is going to take your job??
After what Elon Musk said at the recent AI summit about AI replacing ALL jobs in the future, you would be forgiven for feeling more than a little uneasy!
Well it isn't going to anytime soon, so why not be excited at how AI can HELP you to sell more and sell better.?
Here are 7 ways you can use AI right now to make your life a whole lot easier
1. Forecasting – whether you are working out whether one lead will be better than another or working out what your sales will be, AI algorithms can help predict future sales trends, helping businesses prepare better and allocate resources effectively.? 2. Chatbots and Virtual Assistants – I don’t know about you but I find chat bots really annoying because they won’t answer my question or actually refer me to a human which negates the whole point. I would have rather filled in a message request and waited for a reply.? But there are more advanced AI options coming and that will save us all a load of time and help the buyers move through the sales process at their own pace. I would also take a look at Digitial Sales Rooms as they are very exciting ways of managing the buyer journey whilst you sleep. 3. Personalisation – I have long been a fan of AI modelling that analyses CVs or Linked In profiles to work out the DiSC profile of my potential customers.? This then enables me to tailor all my communications whether that is first outreach, emails or sales presentations.? 4. CRM systems – gone are the days when we keep a spreadsheet with key contacts and follow up info – there are loads of great CRM systems such as Salesforce or Hubspot which will determine the best times to send emails to customers, suggest content modifications, or even automate follow-ups based on customer interactions.
5. Coaching and training – It is easy to create training programmes for sales reps to really understand the products and download the right information that they need to do their job properly.? 6. Optimising negotiations – AI can be great for making notes, suggesting improved tactics and offering alternative solutions to get to Yes!? in the best way possible. For bigger companies, it is possible to use AI to run the negotiation for you - Walmart use https://pactum.com/ for larger contracts - so maybe buyers need to be worried about their jobs as well!
7. Doing the grunt work – AI can transcribe meeting notes, write account plans and do all that work I used to hate as an account manager.? It can even adapt the notes so that they are written in the style that the buyer will appreciate!? AI can also review contracts and highlight areas of concern or interest, although don’t rely on it for accuracy or legal advice!!
And finally, of course there is just using Chat GPT as your personal assistant to get stuff done.? It is well worth paying for version 4 as you can then give it loads of information about you and your business.? This saves a lot of time with the prompts.? I don’t use it to write everything per se but to give me ideas and structure – a bit like Google but more specific (and actually less accurate with the facts so always check those!)
So to sum up, AI can provide help and support to complement your sales skills but there is no artificial substitute (currently) for being human.? Building rapport and ?relationship-building are still at the core of successful sales.
